Deanna Troi's Outfits

NigellaDeanna20

Commander
Red Shirt
After some thinking, I've come to the decision that Troi's best outfit for me was that blue dress that she wore in Seasons 3 & 4.

I did like her other outfits including the regular Starfleet uniform she wore from the middle of Season 6 (Chain Of Command) until the finale too.

She looked her absolute best IMO at the start of the episode "Family". To me her look in that particular episode is her most iconic look.

Duty uniform for the win. But of the other outfits, I'd vote for the same one you mentioned, the asymmetrical aqua number. Her off-duty and off-the-shoulders blue dress would come second, and then all the gross jumpsuits way after that.

As far as I'm concerned the Duty Uniform is always the best but the blue dress gets a thumbs up from me simply because it looked comfortable.

Anything but the bunny suits.

To be honest, the bunny suit looks to be the most comfortable, and without a doubt would be the best if you had to fight hand to hand.

Eh..what's comfortable to one may not be comfortable to someone else. I would't be comfortable walking around trying to do my job in something that would make me think I was wearing pajamas. Maybe 'comfort zone' would be a better way of putting it.

I also like the blue dress best. But Jellico was right in putting her in uniform. If I was one of her clients and she was wearing that dress, I'd have a hell of hard time concentrating during a session.

I actually liked Troi most in the "Encounter At Farpoint" miniskirt (aka the skant or the "cheerleader" outfit). I always felt that was a casual variant to the standard one-piece uniform, but still had the same colors and some of the same styling.

Now if only they had done something about her hair...I think they kind of stopped trying to make her look "exotic" or Greco-Roman until after TNG went to the big screen.

That gown from Man of the People, ha. No, I think the standard uniform was the best and she carried herself well in it. The jumpsuits were meh. The blue dress was awful and the cheerleader skirt with the boots was outright insulting. Glad they got rid of those.

I also think that the standard uniform was best. I also liked the blue dress people mentioned; that did look comfortable to wear. I think it would have worked better off-duty, or if she was a counsellor/chaplain but not a Starfleet officer.

It's interesting to see a lot of fans for the blue dress from seasons 3 and 4. At a con, Marina Sirtis said it was her least favorite, saying it was essentially a leotard with a skirt that was tough to get in and out of, also the lack of symmetry to the neckline she didn't like.

She wore it well and I agree it was one of her best looks, but it's too bad that it had to be a lousy one for her.

I was glad they gave her a uniform, it should've happened far sooner.

The jumpsuit she hated the most was the dark grey one with the lavender piping from the first season. She said it was made of denim, and didn't stretch at all, which made it difficult to breathe, or sit down. I think it was the main cleavage suit, IIRC.

Deanna looked amazing no matter what she wore. And, sometimes, even what she didn't wear. :techman:

I didn't like the blue dress really from what I remember. I liked her in anything else blue though and of course her uniform a lot.

Yes i agree with you about her miniskirt uniform in EAF. Absolutely with you on her hair that first season. What on earth was all that about?!

yeah. I wasn't too keen on the bunny suits either. They just didn't look right on her.

I liked the blue dress best but the duty uniform looked great on her too. I thought she looked amazing in all the outfits even the cheerleader one and the cleavage showcaser she wore in Season 1.

I think they still wanted something that visually implied she was alien. Otherwise, Humans and Betazoids are pretty much indistinguishable in appearance.

Then in Season 2, they went for the "Jersey Girl" look...
