News Deadline-- Simon Kinberg signs deal for new trilogy-

Episodes 10, 11 and 12 of the Skywalker saga?

I'm torn. On one hand I look at his X-Men movies, on the other hand I look at is involvement on Star Wars Rebels, where he worked with Dave Filoni and no doubt be working with him here as well. I was not fond of most of his X-Men movies, but I love Rebels. I can see them trying to do for the sequel trilogy what the Clone Wars show did for the prequel trilogy and make them part of a larger story that's better in hindsight. That's going to be a tough job.

As long as he doesnt direct.. hes the one who done X3 and the last phoenix one.. both shite...
As a writer.. maybe.. as said hes decent but man does he have some duds

As has already been pointed out, Kinberg didn't direct The Last Stand, but even if he had, writing and directing doesn't make a film 'good' or 'bad' for the simple fact that, to paraphrase Obi-Wan Kenobi, "good is a point of view".

X3 was directed by Brett Ratner. Simon Kinberg was a writer on that movie. Dark Phoenix is the only X-Men movie Kinberg directed, and indeed was the first movie he's ever directed.
Ah! corrected. thanks.

Looking at his IMDB.. Hes' had some good ones as a writer and producer.. and some Eh ones.. and some Turds..

I'm cautiously Optomistic..

Deadline said that this will be a continuation of the Skywalker Saga, but the other Big Three trades (THR and Variety) are disputing that, so we'll see what ends up being true.

Are we assuming Kennedy herself has decided? Maybe she wants him to do outlines for both, and she'll decide what she wants later. :rommie:

BTW, how many times can Kennedy fail and yet keep her job?! What does she think she is, the Republican nominee for president, or something?

It's looking very much like Deadline was just wrong about these movies being a continuation of the Skywalker Saga because, so far, every other report on this has said that they won't be.

No! I wanted Disney writers working on X-Men projects not X-Men writers working on Disney projects!

X-Men: The Last Stand is one of the guy's higher rated movies on IMDb. He did XXX 2, Jumper, the worst Fantastic Four, X-Men: Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix... all films I can't talk about because people told me to skip watching them. Granted he wasn't the only writer on all of them, but he wasn't the only writer on the two movies on his IMDb page that did get a decent score either (Sherlock Holmes, Days of Future Past).

The silver lining is that Star Wars movies don't actually get made anymore, just announced and forgotten.

And he won't be the only writer here, since Filoni is also supposed to be involved.

The Mandalorian and Grogu says hi.

I really hope it does! I've been waiting for it.

Also Filoni's involvement would be a very good sign, considering their work together on Rebels. If they can get the films up to the quality of Fire Across the Galaxy, Twilight of the Apprentice or Family Reunion – and Farewell, I'll have to eat crow.
