Daybreakers (on Yahoo Movies)

The basic premise: Vampires are the majority, humanity is close to extinction and the food supply of blood is running out.

This isn't the one where Zombies are fighting Vampires is it? Zombies are taking over so the Vampires have less food so they need to protect Humans from them.

If so i am looking forward to this.

Dafoe is a vampire again? Is he trying to go for the entire spectrum of demonic beings?

No that's not this movie. That's Last Blood which is based on a webcomic in which vampires decide to help protect humans from zombies in order to maintain their blood supply for food.

It was just announced a few months back that it would be turned into a movie so I doubt there's a script yet on it.

The list of actors got to me take a look at this thread, especially Sam Neil. I don't like vampire movies, but I might... might check this one out.

Looks interesting. A bit more serious look than I was expecting.

I think it looks good. It's quite original. Nice cast as well. I will likely see this unless the reviews are absolutely horrible.

It is a vampire movie. That alone practicaly garauntees I will be at the theater.

OMG that looks awesome! I like how its a twist on the usual "gotta find a cure to the virus that's turning people into monsters" b/c
they are already monsters in the first place & the humans(& possibly becoming human again) is the cure.
Very intriguing...

Looks trashy but at least the vamps aren't emo. :D

Regarding the spoiler...

SG:A tackled the same material but in a more honest way - the Wraith don't want to become human. That 'cure' is the same as a death sentence to them - it destroys their self-identity. That's a more interesting conflict to me than a buncha folks running around and finding the magic macguffin that will solve the story. We know they will, the end, why bother to watch? I'm bored just thinking about it.

Willem Dafoe is human in this one from the looks of the trailer.

Should've had Dafoe play Max Shrek again...(i never saw that movie, actually)

This sounds like the original idea for Blade 3.

Both Blade and Max Shrek should appear. :cool:

The guy from Batman Returns? That was Christopher Walken.

Oooh.. Neill AND Dafoe in the same movie? Have to check that out.. Hawke is good too.

Max Shrek was the name of the actor that played the Vampire in the silent movie "Nosferatu". The name was used for Walken's character in Batman Returns as an homage. To further confuse the issue. Willem played Max Shrek in a movie retelling the filming of "Nosferatu" with the conceit that Max was a real vampire that the director had hired to bring authenticity to the roll.
