Constitution in BSG?

EnsignYoshi

I read you can briefly see a constitution class starship in a shot of the rag tag fleet from battlestar galactica (remake).

Is this true? and does anyone have a screenshot or an idea in which episode this was?

It's flying backwards and upsidedown, it's in one of the wide camera angle fleet shots during Season 1 as far as I recall. The new Battlestar series has become notorious for ripping off other scifi designs other examples include The original galactica ships, Desanto's designs, SAAB and the Firefly ship. Also to be found in the series are Cola cans, Hummers, P-90 guns, Czech CZ-52 and a British assault rifle and a French Citroen in the parking garage

Ahem... In truth, a connie can be seen in the rag-tag fleet in one of the early shots. However, it's far into the background. Also in the mini, the Firefly ship can be seen landing in the opening shot of the scene when Laura is told she has cancer.

'Rip off' is not the word. These are homages from the creators and special effects people who all have connections to those ships in their professional lives. A common occurance in any film or TV show.

The Constitution is seen very briefly in a shot of the Fleet seen near the end of the mini-series. I'm sure someone will post a screencap soon enough.

Cool! I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Another reason to rewatch the miniseries. ;)

Exactly! It's just an easter egg, and put in with affection. It's nice. It's not like the rampant product placement in Hero's. That is the one thing that I don't like about that show. It really takes me out of it when it's done badly.

Why not have it in there? The creators show a definate love for classic sci-fi or they would not be redoing BSG and it's meant to be a ragtag fleet of every space worth vessel they could find. Sure, I'll take it, it's cool.

On a slightly different not, I beleive that the falcon is present at the Battle of Earth in ST:FC. Apperently you can just make out her drive trails.

I heard about this too, and apparently it's true, I've asked for a screenshot of it a few years back but nobody was able to provide one, apparently you can only see it on the movie screen cause it's so small.

It is true, folks from ILM confirmed it in an issue of the Star Wars Insider a few years back. However, they denied the often-claimed rumour that the Enterprise can be seen in Phantom Menace.

Memory Alpha confirms this, too. (Scroll down and you'll see.)

So I threw in my FC DVD and made a little gif animation:

And here are two screenshots with a magnification:
