From what I saw of Eric Bana on Jay Leno, the audience wasn't particularly interested in the movie. I hope that's not the case tonight as well.

Don't you mean James Blatner? ;)

I liked the clip they showed. I hit the mute button, but I saw most of it. That alien at the bar with the long face and the big lips looked pretty cool. Looked like something out of Star Wars instead of Star Trek.

he is highly dismissive of about all sf.
this has been going on for years.
people in sf movies do better if they talk about themselves or other movies with him.
like letterman but this is just how it has been.

The picture of a young Chris Pine wearing a sombrero and lipstick
Poor guy!
Sombrero? So, someone's time machine worked!

Lipstick? Must have been one of the lady posters getting in early.

BTW, Pine on Letterman - dull, dull, dull.

that was Morn's granddad. :p

good interview. i can't believe they put Chris Pine as the second guest on the show as if he were one of those stupid animal tricks 15 minute of fame guys. i like how humble he is about the men's fitness cover and other things. he carried himself well.

Just finished watching it - very dull overall and not worth waiting up for.

Also it wasn't a new clip, it was just the one of him meeting Uhura in the bar and not even the full clip at that.

Pine is not as good looking as I thought he was. Also, he said his dad worked with Erik Estrada on CHiPs. The other guy's name was Larry Wilcox, IIRC. I wonder if this was Pine's dad or if there was some other actor on the show whom I cannot remember?

There's only like 5-6 clips for these talk shows to choose from, so that's why it was a clip we've already seen.

Here's his dad on CHiPs. He's the one in the middle.

Obviously not a regular Letterman viewer. Stupid Pet Tricks and "15-minutes of Fame" people are usually on FIRST, before the main guest. Johnny Carson frequently did what you mention.

I thought it was a really enjoyable interview. Loved the fake clip bit. (Letterman's been doing that a lot lately, but the clips themselves are usually hysterical)

Didn't stay up to see this one, but Pine is on Ellen tomorrow (and Quinto today I believe?) and I'll definitely tune into that. Good to see they're making the rounds!
