Ensign Janeway was the only genius-level repeat offender in Indiana. A grizzled Starfleet captain who did his dissertation on Shannon O'Donnell took her under his wing. After he was captured, she engineered a nervous breakdown in the acting CO, took command herself, and saved the day. Got her four pips with heroics to spare.

After a bizarre encounter with a vengeful Q, she was left with a transformed appearance.
