Bruce watson has died.

Grant

Commodore
Commodore
Bruce watson who played 'crewman Green' a victim of the 'salt vampire' in 'Man-trap' died in June at the age of 68.

He was genuinely creepy when masquarading as Green on the ship.

Related to June Lockhart and nephew of actor Gene Lockhart.

Most of the guest cast from Man-Trap is gone:
Alfred Ryder--Crater, Jeannie Bal--Nancy, Michael Zaslow--Darnell now Bruce Watson. Only Vince Howard--Uhura's vision & Francine Pyne--Nancy (younger version) are left.

R.I.P.

Well at least he'll live forever in "The Man Trap" and forever be youthful to me.

With that being said I hated his frikkin hair...I'm sorry.

Odd timing... I watched Johnny Got His Gun on TCM about a week ago (which is about a WW I soldier whom everyone else thinks is brain-dead, but isn't - he's still alive). Seeing a minor character toward the end, I thought, "that looks like Crewman Green," and I looked him up on IMDB, and that was the case.

Thanks for the pointer, Grant.

Man I love TCM! The book was really good too.

Agreed. When TCM showed it - now what I think about it, I believe that it might have been over the July 4th holiday, which would have been amazingly appropriate - I had to watch. While the movie was pretty well-done (Jason Robards is always the man), the book was even better (as usual). But, in whatever form, it's still powerful and evocative stuff.

It's really amzing how many TOS actors had very brief careers and stopped making movies/TV in the 60s, 70s and 80s--despite a fairly youthful age.

But the fact they were in TOS gives them a certain amount of immortality and their passing is noted when it probably would have been overlooked had they not done a tiny part in a TV show 40+ years ago.

The girl who played the yeoman in Galileo 7 played the daughter of Scarlet in Gone With the Wind----double immortality!

NO. WAY. [looks on IMDB] Well, whaddya know, Yeoman Mears was little Bonnie Blue. I'll have something to pull on my dad (whose favorite movie is GWTW) next time we watch... thanks much!

That makes two links to Gone With The Wind. Ernest Haller, the cinematographer on "Where No Man Has Gone Before" was also the cinematographer on GWTW (the thinking being that everything that could go wrong did go wrong on that film, so nothing would surprise him on this little sci-fi thing).

But she was only the 'baby' version--not the girl who fell off the horse. Who of course didn't really fall off the horse because they had laws against that even in those days.

Yes, I'm sure society could use our talents elsewhere to stamp out hunger and poverty; but this is more fun.

RIP, Bruce; once you're in Star Trek, you're never forgotten.

Stamp out hunger & poverty??

How about if you're in abject poverty with no chance to get out on your own----stop having babies!!! Defy the Pope and use contraceptives. Or use other methods to stop having babies you have no chance of feeding. Heck you can have sex all day and NOT conceive a kid. I know, my wife and i do it all the time. NOT make a baby that is.

Unless you live in a welfare state where people are happy to feed your illegitimate kids----don't have them.

We're all happy to feed and clothe and house illegitimate children, right?

Yes, I knew you were too.

God, i hope that's what you meant!

I didn't mean to sound mean. It's not the popes fault. i don't think anybody cares about his feelings on contaception. I mean he's a celabate (hopefully) man in a dress! You'd have to be an idiot to listen to his views on having babies.
