"Patriot Acts" - Patriotism abounds as Alan and Denny celebrate their acceptance into the Auxiliary Coast Guard. However, when the town of Concord, Massachusetts wants to secede from the United States and Alan takes the case, Denny is deeply offended. The case gets personal when Denny appears in court representing the opposing side, on the Season Finale of "Boston Legal," WEDNESDAY, MAY 21 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Guest starring are Anthony Heald as Judge Harvey Cooper, Henry Gibson as Judge Clark Brown, Michael Mantell as Mayor Thomas Steinbrenner, Richard McGonagle as A.A.G. Norman Wood and Jude Ciccolella as General Robert Seagram
Anthony Heald is back! And they can notch yet another Trek connection... Jude Ciccolella played one of the Romulans in Nemesis.

Damn, that was an excellent episode. Denny was his odd self, but still on his game; good use of Jerry and Katie, and a really interesting court case all around. If the final thirteen episodes next year are this good, Boston Legal will go out with a bang.

That montage at the end, with the camera going around the empty CPS offices... did anyone else think they did that just in case the show didn't get renewed, and this had to serve as the series finale?

In the final episode next season, I want Denny and Karl Sak in a death grip and Denny to say "I TOLD YOU I'd kill you later!" :D

This was, without a doubt, my favorite episode of the season, if not the series. I think it would have served well as a series finale if it had to, but I'm glad we get another (half) season to finish it proper.

Yes, I think it was intended as a last-minute series finale had they not been renewed. While a number of smaller arcs weren't resolved, Denny and Alan finally squared off, they made it in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and Shirley and Carl got to see Denny in top form in the courtroom. And Alan got to name names in his closing.

And, of course, the Gone Fishin' sign was a perfect ending.

Excellent episode and its easy to say BOSTON LEGAL is the best show on TV at the moment and come the end of the 101st episode, it will join the ranks of TV legends. No matter your views, political or personal...

This show's story, drama, comedy and acting are virtually second to none :techman:.

Also I loved the Crane, Poole & Schmidt line from Denny

LONG LIVE BL and Denny Crane!

Yup. Another vote of Excellent here. Funny how, when Denny is in the courtroom, that he is on top of his game.

another Excellent. I'd be quite happy if that were the end, though it'll be nice to get a bit more.

Lord, only "good" and "excellent" votes? I love the show, but just watched this and it was terrible. No B-plot, Alan ranting about torture for about the eight time, awful ending... I'm so glad I've got more eps to wash the taste of this one away.
