After I watched the Squid Game based game show on Netflix I've been thinking, if they do another season, I hope they come up with their own new children's games instead of just doing the show again. Then thought it might be a fun thought experiment to design a Squid Game. (Both the show deadly version and the game show no-violence version).
Game 1: Simon says
Just a big game of simon says that you have to survive 5 minutes.
Game 2: Building blocks
Everyone gets a toy block set. They need to build them up stably to eight feet tall within six minutes. Based on a disguised self pick, some get more rectangular sets than others.
Game 3: Hide and Seek
Make the game a big playground, send people in groups of 10. One player is designated finder, everyone else has one minute to hide. That player then has five minutes to find people. Anyone they find dies/is out, and if they don't find everyone, they die.
Game 4 (Game show version): Guess Who
Just the game guess who, with real people, split down the line. Anyone eliminated loses, and the losing caller loses.
Game 4 (Show version): Capture the Flag
Just capture the flag, everyone on the losing team dies, but it's full contact and killing to stop someone is within the rules.
Game 5 (Game show version): Werewolf
Just play werewolf. Any survivors advance. Including anyone not killed by the time the werewolves outnumber the villagers because you need at least two survivors.
Game 5 (Show version): Red Rover
Red Rover, Red Rover, let Jimmy come over. Self explanatory. If you don't end up on the right side, bye bye.
Game 6 (Game show version): Evens/odds
Just because they did rock paper scissors in the first one, this is similar and they'd never do something physical for the last one.
Game 6 (Show version): Dodgeball
Just free for all dodgeball with anyone left.
