Betazoid Wedding Custom Trending on Earth

Better late, than never: Life takes a leaf out of TNG's book ...

As we know, Betazoid couples wed eachother in their Birthday Suits. With "Naked Weddings" trending, as they have been, right here on Earth, will we see more STAR TREK weddings evoking this provocative custom? There hasn't been much made, at least not directly, of the TNG connection, but I'm sure it will, eventually ... inevitably ...

All true, but the article's not about Nudists. It's about brides trying to impress their snotty girlfriends with how outrageously different and cool they are. Ehhh .... It's about wearing a nude body stocking like what a Showgirl would wear. They don't even show reveal their bodies totally, because they don't want to look like a **** to their family & friends, either, so there's flesh-coloured fabric under the nylon in some places, so that you can't see nipples and ... and so forth. But the idea is to be shocking, whilst Nudists - supposedly - are just being Natural.

What had me thinking about this was that I went to a wedding, yesterday, but ... thank Providence ... the bride wore the traditional white lace with the veils and trains and ... and so forth. The bridesmaids looked very pretty, as well. Not dressed too seductively. I did have to admonish the date I was with, however. I told her, quite sharply, "you're not supposed to be prettier than the bride."

Nothing is more awkward than bringing a hot babe to a wedding where the bride is only so so.

Pretending to be naked is sort of pathetic. It just underlines how badly you want to be outrageous, contrasted with how timid you actually are about actually doing anything daring. There's our era in a nutshell.

Boy, you said it, UnknownSample. I love how one "Naked" bride said, basically, that she went this route so that her Husband-to-be would be so impressed, that he'd wonder to himself, "-- I can't believe I'm lucky enough to marry this girl."

I was drinking cappuccino at the time and sprayed it all over the screen, laughing. Yeah, honey ... he's SO lucky having such a NEEDY wife who can't even get attention on her goddamn wedding day, without faking her own nakedness, for it. Oh! But you're SO cool, baby ... how I wish I could have a wife like you. How desperately I wish for it ...

Lwaxana Troi's neediness, at least, is justified, for so many reasons. When she showed up naked to marry her stuck-up Internet Boyfriend, though ... I did have to laugh, because it's so in character. She's so desperate for notice, that even without the Betazoid custom she was respecting ... she's exactly the kind who would've, at least, gone the Fake-Naked bodysuit route.
