A little silly, then very serious. Excellent cartoon. LOVE the theme song.

Very silly, babyish, ridiculous. But with 369 episodes a cinematic release and three direct to DVD movies, and counting, this is the largest sub franchise that DC has ever produced, because they are targeting 4 year olds and stoners. The actual movie is first class.

Depressing. Pretty people in tight leather. Hawk and Dove are real fun. :)

Young Justice.

It's all the characters from Teen Titans, doing Teen Titans story lines, and they never call the team "young Justice" nor "Teen Titans". The final season was a snooze, and that's probably why Discovery Channel canceled it again.

Dark grim psychos, almost adult, following the pattern of the DC direct market.

Don't forget the first Teen Titans cartoon (appearing only a mere three years after their comic book debut) as one of the "guest star" segments from Filmation's The Superman / Aquaman Hour of Adventure (CBS, 1967-68) --

The best has got to be Teen Titans 2003. Its not a very traditional version, but its got the best characters, an overall fun show and some real heart. Young Justice was pretty good in its first season but it always had some problems with character writing in my opinion, and after its first time skip, and especially once it returned on streaming, it never even approached being good, much less the best.

The first Teen Titans Direct to DVD movie, Teen Titans vs Justice League, was decent. Judas Contract was absolute shit. Teen Titans Go is a poorly written show that went from not caring about the 2003 show, aka the only reason TTGo exists, to actively being bitter assholes about it. The TTGo movie was tolerable, but thats the best I can say about it.

The worst version is easily the live action TV series. Just hyper violent crap, that gives so little of a shit that Robin (the Dick grayson version) murders people with guns, Starfire is a psychotic pyromaniac, no one looks right (can't fucking put orange or green body paint on people, that might make the show spend a few dollars, which they will never willingly do), etc. Plus the writers/producers are literally so stupid they don't even understand the concept of the Hawk and the Dove, which is such a basic premise it actually pisses me off more that they fucked that up then all my other complaints.

I've never seen the animated movies nor Young Justice, but I feel the Titans have never been portrayed well on screen. I've enjoyed some of the TTG episodes on their own merits, but they aren't great versions of the Titans.

Comedians revoicing Young Justice with dirty jokes. Superman is so Republican, you almost have to side with Luthor.

Young Justice far and away. I don't just think it's the best version of the "Teen Titans" I think it's one of the best (and certainly most internally consistent and original) DC shows out there, animated or live action. The early 00s Teen Titans was solid too.

Call me immature, but I love the humor of Teen Titans GO!

I especially love that "Weird Al" Yankovic plays Darkseid

(and, of course, only in a Teen Titans GO! movie can there be a Stan Lee cameo  )

Teen Titans 2003 is probably the best. It introduced most of us to the Teen Titans and laid the groundwork for everything that came after.

But Teen Titans Go is friggin hilarious. I thought Teen Titans go to the Movies was hellishly fun.

I agree that TTG is incredibly funny and very well written from what I've seen. The Darkseid episode was great and the movie was a lot of fun. I just wish we were able to get a version of the Teen Titans closer to how the New Teen Titans comic portrayed the team. Marv Wolfman and George Perez's run on the Titans redefined how we read comics and it doesn't get enough credit for the impact it had on the industry.

One of the Titan's movies has Kory show up confused and learns English from kissing Dick.

And then there's a time skip to "5 years later".

There's also a weird meta episode of Titans GO where we see an 80s version of the gang with Perez like animation.

If you can tolerate the first season, you should really give the second and especially the third a try. Pretty much every thing you complain about here stops being the case by the second or third season.

Yeah I'll agree with that assessment. The first season was very subpar in my opinion, but they did a better job with season 2 and season 3 and so far with season 4.

That might be true, but its a bit "too little, too late" for me, especially since I consider what I watched of Titans (I think I literally dropped it when Dove showed up and started mutilating people, although I was already in Hate watch mode by that point) to be some of the worst (official) live action superhero TV stuff ever. It wouldn't be hard to go up from there, but I honestly don't think it could ever become "good" for me, not unless they completely retcon Hawk/Dove (which I'm pretty sure they didn't do), started making Beast Boy green and Starfire orange (which I know they didn't do, based on the posters), retconned the "Fuck batman" and gun murderer Robin scenes, etc.

To be fair, I think that Peacemaker is the only good DC show left in the post Arrowverse world, Titans, Stargirl and Superman & Lois all piss me off and Doom Patrol barely coasts on its great first season, which was definitely its peak. I'll watch any DC live action TV stuff connected to James Gunn, but besides that I think that DC live action TV pretty much died with the arrowverse for me.
