Anovos uniforms....

Has anyone ever purchased or at keast actually seen one of these replica uniforms from Anovos?

They look decently made (from what I can see online) and for a very long time I've wanted a faithful looking TOS gold Command style uniform. My favourite design was Kirk's first season green alternate design, but sadly that one is sold out and who knows if it will be available ever again. Anovos also offers authentic looking uniform pants although one is left to their means to obtain suitable boots.

Anyone?

USS Intrepid has purchased from them before I think, and he has been for the most part pretty happy with the products.

Too, I'd be surprised if these uniforms weren't being utilized in the fan films like Phase II, Farragut, Secret Voyage and Star Trek Continues, even if they have been also making their own uniforms as well.

Have picked up quite a bit of stuff from them including the green wrap (check the filming locations thread, I am wearing it a few times being a geek at the locations), and I must say the attention to detail and quality is just truly stunning.

I had a lot of comments in Vegas to the effect of "you look like you just walked off the show".

But, go into it with your eyes open : there are some issues you should be aware of :

Their stuff is custom-made in most cases, in small batches, and they require your money in advance, so you will be without your cash for a while. In the case of my green wraps, it was about 11 months' wait.

There have been incidences of their manufacturers providing uniforms that were not quite right, and ANOVOS demanding they be re-done. These guys are perfectionists when it comes to these uniforms, and delays are frequent. It's looking like it will be a full year between payment and delivery of my TWOK "Monster maroon" outfit.

I once had a package stolen in the mail (happens too often with Star Trek things, sadly). It was insured, and ANOVOS gave me a gift card for the lost money -- but this is just a horrible feeling when you've paid cash 1 year plus in advance, have been so excited about getting the thing, then having it disappear. The items that were stolen were limited run, and cannot be replaced yet, so I have this gift card just sitting in limbo till they make something I like.

Overall I find the ANOVOS guys great to deal with, but they sometimes struggle to reply prompty - I think it's just growing pains, they seem to be doing quite well, and it's great to see.

Anyway, I say treat yourself, but just be aware of what can happen given the highly specialised nature of these products.

I love anovos, I have the TOS command premiere, nuTrek Command, TNG standard command uniform, and the enterprise "archer" jacket. I cant say enough about how awesome the uniforms are, they are pricey but all totally worth it. My favorite has to be my TOS. Fits perfectly, and super comfortable. If you guys want pictures i'll happily take some!

Too bad they don't do TOS uniforms with patches from other ships.

Yes, have some ladies TOS ones (not for personal wearing). Can only find the TOS sciences one. Needs an iron, but you get the idea. This is a "premier line" ie : 100% screen accurate, and like the mens' stuff is just flawless in its attention to detail.

Me too - my favourite ANOVOS design so far.

If you want to go all out and get the first season orange phaser belt, I have enough material left over to make you one. My tailoring isn't ANOVOS quality but a few people thought it was made by them, so I was pretty happy to get a compliment like that
