Aneta Smrhova - What does she look like?

I'm looking for physical descriptions of her from inside Lit.

Please note, YES, I am aware David Mack named this character after a european pornographic actress. NO, I am not interested in seeing pictures of this person, or imagining the character in her likeless.

Where has she been described, physically, in TrekLit, and what was said about her?

Memory Beta is light.

I remember she had scenes on Orion in Cold Equations, and I remember she---

But I need her physical description; In particular, her hair.

If I remember correctly she's not had a great description, just slim build and dark hair. For what its worth I always picture her as if she was potrayed by Michelle Borth from Hawaii Five-0

The actress who Mr Mack based both her name and her likeness on is from the Czech Republic, so she's not a European Pornographic actress, but a Czech one.

As for her likeness, I'm sure Mr Mack will swing by and clarify one way or the other, but her likeness is based on the appearance of the aforementioned actress.

I'm curious about a couple of things, why don't want you to imagine the character after who she is based upon and wouldn't this be best suited for the cast the characters thread?

Smrhova's appearance was modeled on that of her namesake actress, with straight, raven hair. But I've always felt that readers should feel free to recast characters in their heads in whatever way makes the story work best for them.

Last time I checked the Czech Republic was in Europe, so the description fits. I can understand why the OP might not want to envisage the real Smrhova as the fictional one. I thought it was a little crass to name her after a porn star at the time, I've always wondered why Rennan Konya never got the job. I'm sure he was Deputy Chief when Choudhury died.

Yes and no. Yes the Czech Republic is in Europe, it's even in the European Union, but as for her just being European, nope, as the Czech Republic is it's own independent state, so she's more a Czech actress than an European one. Same as you and I. if we were in that trade, we would be English or British Actors, not European.

As for it being crass, really? She's an actress Mr Mach likes, (I assume) it's also a cool and not the type of name you'd regularly hear. Until I read it hear what origin the choice was, I didn't know who it was based upon and just thought, nice name.

I think in my head I've cast her as Anamaria Marinca ("4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days", "Fury," a brief appearance in "Asylum of the Daleks") but with something like a Vulcan/Ezri Dax haircut.

I was unaware that Smrhova was named or modeled after someone. Interesting.

As a Canadian, I am also North American, but thanks for the clarification anyway. Truth be told, I never really dug into the actress's history.

The real Aneta is more attractive - in that "porn pretty: sense - than I imagined Smrhova looking in the books. She also appears relatively tall. I always assumed a more petite, severe Eastern European look for the character. Still, I do think its interesting to get a sense of what authors were going for when they conceived a character.

I do note that Smrhova tended to be very sparsely described after her first appearance whereas I feel Dina Elfiki has a kind of boilerplate description that follows her through each story.
