Amy Poehler watched DS9... on marijuana...

Hmm, who's the Star Trek character who's most likely to have used marijuana?

I'd go with the Vulcan who remains on Earth at the end of "Carbon Creek". For research purposes, of course.

Remove the smoking and that describes my college years.

I'd go with Tom Paris for Trek character most likely to have used marijuana.

Barclay. Definitely. And Neelix was awfully cheerful all the time for some reason.

All the doctor characters, except EMH for obvious reasons. Bashir, especially when excited about learning 'frontier medicine'.

Marijuana may have been Earth's gift to the Federation.

I saw this awhile ago ... does this mean Amy Poehler is the most prominent Niner (that is to say, not just a Trekkie but someone who has expressed a particular love of DS9)?

^^
She said she watched it, she didn't say she loved it. It could have been the Trek that was on at the time when she was making Mac and Cheese. True, she most likely enjoyed it, but she never really said.

I ate dinner while watching Voyager all the time. It didn't mean I loved that series.

^^
Thank you, I am aware of the wording she used. Nonetheless, she remembers the show specifically, whereas she could have been more abstract in her description of the scene. Writing involves choice, you know.

I'm just saying, it doesn't make her a Niner simply by recalling the show by name. She could be a fan of all Treks equally for all we know and that was what was playing. Or she could remember that because she was watching Profit and Lace and wondering if it was the drugs that were making the episode so bad or if it was really what she was watching. After that, she never watched again and stuck with TOS reruns.

There are SO many interpretations we really can't say based only on that sentence. Writing does involve choice and she just chose to build the fullest picture of WHAT she was doing, but not how much she was enjoying it, as a show in passing or loving every single second of it.

If it was the first show to come to mind it's probably got the most emotional associations to her among shows she was watching at the time.

I spent a lot more hours in college watching CSI, but if you ask me what I was watching I'll say "The Sopranos".

The Sisko is definitely a weed man. Especially when he is being interviewed by The Shat.
