Spoilers All about Kovich...

F. King Daniel

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Soooo... he's an old Daniels from Enterprise. Daniels was from the 30th century, basically destroyed the timeline a couple of times ("Shockwave", "Cold Front"), died twice and is an old man in Discovery's late 32nd century. He's almost 200 years old, so I guess they've extended lifespans a little.

And he's got Geordi's old Visor as a trinket in his office, just because.

Kovich/Daniels said he was "mostly human" way back in Enterprise, giving an explanation already for his longevity

"More or less" human was his exact words; but even so, humans seem to have potentially very long lives even by the 23rd century (Jonathan Archer lives to be 133; Leonard McCoy lives to be at least 137; Jean-Luc Picard is still quite spry at 97; we hear of Keiko's mother turning 100 in DS9). Quite happy even for "normal" humans to routinely have 200-year lifespans by the 32nd century, especially if they've spent most of their careers living a wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey existence.

Archer was never confirmed. Assuming Daniels was a 17 year old prodigy (like Kelvin Chekov) in 3052, he would be born in 3035 and be 156 in 3191.

If we assume Book and Burnham got busy immediately in 3191 and Leto is a 25 year old prodigy like Kelvin Kirk, the epilogue would take place in 3216

Kovich wasn’t always Daniels according to an interview with Michelle Paradise, it came up during Season 4.

Daniels was from the 31st century, not the 30th. But yeah, I’m sure they extended lifespans more by the 32nd.

Admiral Vance was still serving based on dialogue in the epilogue. Unless that was one of his kids, but I doubt it.

Jon Favreau: Grr, Star Trek copied from us! I knew we should never have cut Werner Herzog's reveal scene!

(deleted Mandalorian scene)

Mandalorian: The client--nobody uses that as a name.

Client: My name doesn't matter, no one cares about some former moisture farmer with a prosthetic named Cliegg Lars. What I do with this child's blood is what matters, as my masters assure me it can be used to resurrect my long dead wife who was slaughtered by sandpeople.

I kinda was hoping he was Kira/Odo's child. Gained longevity by being a changeling, but didn't have the full extent of abilities to completely altar himself, since he was half "solid".

Would have explained the Sisko baseball. (not the Geordi visor tho)

Daniels must've had additional adventures we never saw on all the legacy series: Souring Gekli milk with Geordi on the Ent-D, painting android portraits with Picard on the vinyard, playing Vulcans in baseball on DS9. But not Voyager. Anything but Voyager.

Can someone help me understand all the time travel?

Future guy is allegedly from the 2800s

Crewman daniels is from the 3000s

the sphere builders are from the 1200s

the temporal war took place in 2900s, but also a separate war with the sphere builders took place in the 2600s?

The temporal accords were signed in the 2700s

and time travel was made illegal by the 3100s (I assume we don't have a date on this one).

Is this all correct?

Yeah, that's the gist of it. Time travel ended around the 3050s or 3060s because nobody undid the Burn.
The Temporal Wars are touched upon/fleshed out in Star Trek Online and Star Trek: Department of Temporal Investigations.

With Kovich being Daniels - I am pleased with that. We knew the Daniels from the 3052-3055 era and that the Burn occurred in 3069. He would've experienced it. Since the time jump I wondered if he would've lived out his life during the post-Burn world. Becoming Kovich is the better fate.

Future Guy was from the 28th Century, so 2700s.

The Temporal Accords banned time travel outside of science & observation. The Federation of the 3000s was a belligerent in the Temporal Wars to enforce the Temporal Accords. The war itself was fought across time & space, so it is better to think of each time period being fought over as battlefields rather than as a linear progression of events.

The battles in the 2550s between the Federation and the Sphere Builders is all about the trans-dimensional beings invading the galaxy and the Federation repelling them, which pushes them to join the temporal (cold) war (so they can eliminate the Federation and thus have a free hand when they invade in the 2500s).

But clearly, the war was done and over with by the time the Burn happened, and all time travel was banned before then - otherwise why wouldn't Daniels or some other temporal agent just find where the Burn happened and stop it before it happens?

Also, you cannot forget about the Na'kuhl, from the 2800s, who hated the Temporal Accords, escaped captivity and joined the war.

There are other factions likely to be involved with the Cold War, like the Romulans (seen in SNW) and the Q and Borg (fan speculation). El-Aurians are often speculated as also playing a role, either directly (as seen with their opposition to the Q) or indirectly (as pawns in a larger game, that ended with their species' sudden assimilation by the Borg).
