AI generated Minecraft, and the future of gaming

20 seconds into playing AI Minecraft, I get this lumpy beast of cow flesh. Here's the link if anyone wants to try.

But this is just the first iteration, equivalent to those early AI art images that were basically colored smears. In ten years, we'll be typing prompts and getting complete games. Whatever genre you like. AI stories, AI voices, AI music, aI level design. It's going to be fun, it'll be infinite but it's going to kill the games industry.

Crazy. A Microsoft "rep" with a heavy foreign accent called me at work the other day and tried to sell me on co-pilot and how much easier it would make my business run. Not sure if it was legit or not but since I do not take telemarketing calls normally, and kind of accidentally answered this one, I figured I'd tell him what I thought of our new AI revolution. Hint: I disable co-pilot on new Windows 11 machines through group policy. Although I am sure it's impossible to disable AI entirely in these things now.

"I think the better choice is to learn how to live with it, because artificial intelligence, for better or worse, is the future, and no one can escape the future."
Saw this comment on one of the Microsoft forums and if that just doesn't scream "Resistance is Futile." I fully intend on resisting.

Most definitely not legit. Sounds like a classic scam. On the other hand, I feel like Microsoft has confused a lot of people with Co-Pilot because there are actually two or three different things with the same name as part of their products, as far as I know. There's the browser-based AI add-on, which as far as I can tell, can't do much beyond being a chatbot via Microsoft Edge. Then there's the AI App. And then there's the Co-Pilot being installed on PCs that has hooks into the system that allows it to use the Recall feature. But to make things worse, Microsoft haven't made any distinction, as both use the same name and Icon.

I'm on a Windows 10 PC, and it says I have co-pilot as an app, but that just leads to the AI app, which I have to sign-in in order to use.

Yes it is. And it's only going to get worse, Google are doing a weird one-minute of incoherent gameplay test thing. Type in a prompt, get whatever game you desire. A total mess right now but one day it'll spit out games with fully AI voice acting, original AI scores etc etc
Jesus fucking Christ. AI has gone too far because what the hell. AI video games? Wasn't stealing artists' work enough? NOw programmers, and soon all that other stuff you said? This is ridiculous.

I can see AI Voice acting being useful for lower budget games that don't exactly need professional voice actors but still want to get something to be read aloud , but I would limit it at that.
