Who else will be catching it? I'm right in the path of totality, we've been warned to buy gas and food before hand and not leave our house the day of because of tourists. I ordered my glasses in Feb from the provincial astronomical society, got a few extra in case others didn't.

You mean solar eclipse, right? Let me know if you want me to change the thread title.

I'm outside of the path of totality, but it's really close, and I really want to see a total eclipse once in my life, so I'm going to be one of those tourists you were warned about!

I'm not positive, but I don't think we're in the path here in Phoenix.

Sorry, but yes, you're correct, at least as far as totality goes. Here's the map for anyone interested.

Although everyone in North America gets to see at least a partial eclipse, except for Alaska and a small piece of Yukon.

Oops yes please

Those of us here in Waco are in the path but I suspect it will be too cloudy to see or will be raining here. I do have glasses just in case we can see it.

It's exciting..

People are getting excited about it. Just saw a news item people having eclipse parties.

I wish we could have a total eclipse but I don't think my city has ever had one or likely to have one.

I spoke too soon I just looked it up July 22nd 2028 we will have a total solar eclipse but I'll probably be dead. /s

Enjoying a corona with a Corona…while having corona…wait…I’m going to bed. And no, I don’t have a Mitsubishi EC—never mind.

Should be about 90%+ here in the Chicagoland area, plus a rare clear day it would seem. I considered driving to Terre Haute or somewhere more east, but laziness and all.

I remember a total solar eclipse in 1979, a partial solar eclipse in 1984 and a full lunar eclipse in the early 80's.

I live in the path of the totality and will be going outside to bathe in its embrace and welcome our new Salamander Overlords…wait. Did I just say that last bit aloud? Oops. Sorry. Never mind. Pay no attention. Wait! NO! DON’T TAKE ME…I DIDN’T MEAN TO…:shifty::wtf::eek:

Ahem…it’s all good. Nothing to see here.

We're somewhere in the 98-99% range here in the Greater Cincinnati area. So I'll go outside and see what the fuss is about.

My dad said that it would get like 80% but honestly I never noticed anything different.

If he hadn't told me about the eclipse I never would have known we were having one.
