1955 Alien encounter that inspired Gremlins design

Back in 1955 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky there was a UFO sighting that got lots of publicity back in that time. Supposedly these little men with big ears landed near a farmhouse and scared the hell out of a family living there. The family repeatedly shot these little 3 foot alien guys with shotguns and claimed that they floated around, climbed on the roof, and peered in the windows. They seemed to shrug off gunfire like it was nothing. Police investigated, but found nothing. According to the story, Spielburg was inspired by the story and used the shape for his Gremlins movie. Spielburg was the executive producer of the movie.

The family said that the aliens were silver, but the press called them little green men.

IIRC in Fire In The Sky they elude to the grey/silver being a space suit...which kinda makes sense to me.

Of course, aliens have nothing better to do than travel millions of lightyears to peek through someone's windows... :vulcan:

Well, they seem to love looking up inside human anuses. Some beings will do anything to get a little tail.
