The Flash - Season 1

Amazon sells subscriptions to perpetual (theoretically) streaming rights to episodes and seasons, but for a total of above the blu-ray cost. They should work out a deal where, if one pre-buys the blu-ray season set at a reasonable price, one can stream each episode starting the day after it airs, in perpetuity.
Why bother when people can just watch them on CW.com, Hulu, and the CW app, all of which offer the episodes completely free without any kind of purchase.
I only see CW.com streaming five eps at a time, with commercials, and Hulu appears to be same way. Don't know about the app.

Anyway, just a suggestion to Amazon/WB to help them sell more blus.

I didn't realize you were talking about right now, they only stream new episodes as they're released. Arrow is up on the US Netflix, so I wouldn't be surprised if The Flash was added too.

The Season 1 Blu-Ray set will include digital download versions of the episodes along with the disc copies.

For people living in the States. In other places, YMMV. I took advantage of a short-lived sale on iTunes (Canada) and bought S1 for about half the price of the Blu-ray set. I know it won't be quite as good in PQ and SQ as the Blu-ray, but at half the price, the difference doesn't matter to me.
I'm not sure about the Australian and New Zealand broadasters, Fox8 and TV2, but the Canadian and English broadcasters, CTV and Sky1 do have streaming episodes of their US imports. I couldn't specifically find The Flash, but I don't see why it would be excluded.

I do something similar when renting on demand titles. TWC offers most movies in HD or SD, but there is a 2 or sometime a 3 dollar difference between them. So I usually rent the SD version, depends on the movie. Most movies, you don't really notice a difference.

Well, I always stream/download the HD version as on my projector screen, the difference is quite noticeable, whereas on a sub 40" TV, a good SD DVD and a BD or HD download are pretty close. I do also download the SD versions of anything I buy on iTunes as none of the projectors where I work are HDCP compliant, so I can't show the HD version of anything I would use in the classroom. By buying the HD download, I also automatically have free access to the SD version as well (though it does mean taking up additional space on the storage drive for my iTunes library).

Future Suit? or Tease at season 2 suit

Not a big fan of the white in the logo... just doesn't fit well with the rest of the suit's colors, IMO.

^
Agreed. Unless they change to the classic cherry, they should leave the white out. It kind of clashes with the darker wine color.

Yeah, it does look kind of weird in person, but it could look better once all of the filters and stuff have been added in post-production.

Just wondering if we shouldn't start a Flash Season 2 thread now that details like this are starting to emerge:

Geoff Johns confirms that Jay Garrick will appear on The Flash

The season finale of “The Flash” raised the bar in terms of the show’s willingness to commit to its comic book roots, and one major thing that stood out during that final episode was the helmet of one Jay Garrick, the original version of “The Flash” from the golden age of comics, which toppled into the primary universe.

At yesterday’s “DC Entertainment: From Page to Screen” panel (via CBR), executive producer Geoff Johns confirmed that it wasn’t just a cute Easter egg.

“That’s not an Easter egg, that’s a story point,” Johns said. “We’re going to see Jay.”

The Jay Garrick thing sounds really cool. I was hoping we'd get to see Jay after the easter egg with his helmet during the season finale. I could see them doing a "Flash of Two Worlds" thing. However they do it, I'm sure it will be great.

I still haven't read this thread. It'll take me weeks to slog though but I'll comment anyway.

  • This is a good show and a great addition to the arrowverse.

  • Some of the villains of the week have been less than spectacular but Tom Cavanagh as Wells/Eobard/Reverse Flash has been a real highlight. I'd say the same for our little Prison Break reunion as well as the old Flash series guest stars.

  • I grew to love the speed effects quite a bit. Things were a bit shoddy in this department when I saw the first episode but they’ve done quite well since then.

  • Firestorm. He's one of my favorite characters, so it's nice to see him in live action. I wondered how they'd do his flaming hair and costume. They did the hair well but when I saw that initial pic of his lame sweatsuit-like costume, I was as disappointed as everyone else was. It works though, now that we've seen what they actually did. A device that simply fits over his clothes that's also reminiscent of the triple-belt that the comic book/animated counterpart wears works for me, for now. Like Robbie Amell, I hope he gets a proper costume. No idea what that might look like though.

  • Moving forward, I can't imagine what they might do with Wells (maybe we'll get the real Wells back) and I look forward to seeing Caitlin turn to the dark side. And how long can they keep Barry and Iris in a "will they, won't they" phase? Only time will tell.

Just saw the fall finale featuring the reverse flash. Holy Cow that is how you do a fall finale. We got tons of action but it was those character moments, like with Sisco and Caitlin and Barry and Joe. And then we got the reveal of Wells having the yellow suit and doing the Voice. I'm glad I only have to wait a week. Having to wait a month like you all would have been kinda hard.

I wish I watched this show over Gothem. I wish last year when I saw previews I would have just joined the fans of he show. Hindsight is 20 20, and I don't know how the first season ends, but I'm looking forward to the second.

I think you are going to have a few more seasons to watch so I wouldn't worry too much about getting caught up!

I'm hoping the show comes to Netflix like a week before the premiere so I can see the final few episodes together before season 2 starts.

I finally finished the first season this week. Other than a few things, that was a great season. Loved how this season developed and the payoff was great. I do have questions though, which I hope get answered in Season 2, specifically having to do with Time Travel, Barry's Mother, Henry. I just hope they don't forget about those aspects. Also, I wish Iris had found out Barry was the Flash a lot sooner, mainly because there were episodes in the last third of the season that felt like it was just spinning wheels. Once she did find out, she became a lot more tolorable, and I had wish we would have gotten that before the final 3 episodes.

I'm also going to miss Cavenagh, as he and Martin were the best parts of that first season. Hopefully there isn't a Sophomore slump, but I have to say I'm a fan and I'm looking forward to what comes next.
