Today, the 2012 trailer was released.

I just have to say this: Roland Emmerich sure loves to destroy this planet.

John Cusack and Amanda Peet seem like weird leads for this kind of movie.

I LOVE it! The Mother of all Big Noisy Stupid Disaster Movies!

Might as well just do one that makes all the others, past, present and future, irrelevant.

It's also nice of Emmerich to make sure the SFX is unconvincing enough that it won't scare the horses. :)

No one can slaughter billions quite like Roland Emmerich can. I'm looking forward to having a few drinks before this one!

Why is this movie coming out now?!

It's 2009! Let's have the movie come out in 2012!

    Also why not the summer?

However that looks completely horrible! Are the ships space ships? Where the hell would we go?

    "Mankind's earliest civilization"?

    Sigh.

I'll go see it. I know I will. But I won't respect myself afterwards.

    Very well said:bolian::lol:
Looks like this film will be the ultimate mayhem fest of the year:drool:
The destructions seems huge and effects look great, but im sure the plot wont be equally spectacular, though thats normal in these types of films.
This must be seen in the cinema:cool:...

Looks interesting from a "B-movie" SFX fest POV. The JFK smashing the White House is worth sitting through the rest all on its own  A bit like a soft remake/retelling of When Worlds Collide. Probably catch it on TNT or rent it, can't say I'll go see it in the theaters though; doesn't have the "I must see on the big screen" feel, more of a "Saturday night with a bowl of popcorn making smart ass remarks at the TV" sort of movie.

Crap, the 21st of December 2012...can't it be like a couple of days earlier it would save me from having to get someone a birthday present...what a waste of money for me.

The movie doesn't look all that fantastic but I'll probably be bored enough that week to go and watch it.

Emmerich, and ONLY Emmerich would have the awesomeness of an Aircraft Carrier destroying the White House.

    Im so there.

How many times did he destroy the White House now? 3 times?

What happened there that he's got such a hardon for the WHite House? Was he turned back when he wanted to do a tourist tour?

No one like Emmerich can do epic destruction.. even Bay can't match him. They are both guilty pleasures and i'll definitiely see this.. if only to see an aircraft carrier roll over the White House.

    Most imaginative destruction ever! :techman:

This film is just further proof that 2012 is going be the date that destroys mankind. They're making a movie so we'll not think disaster will really come!

    PREPARE YOURSELVES!

Only thing that would have made it better: Either it be the CVN-65 or it be the "George Bush"
