I just left the New Zealand premiere. The best Star Trek movie I have seen to date. The cast were amazing and very generous to the fans taking photo and signing autographs. Zachary even shook my hand.
Bastard! To think this movie has played *so* close to home! Anyway, here was the verdict from NZ's Nightline show (Also, the first time the new Trek movie has gained any mention on a major network here): http://www.3news.co.nz/Video/Nightline/tabid/368/articleID/99266/cat/741/Default.aspx#video
Yeah the people who don't get Star Trek always think it's a geek thing, they just don't get it. I took my 20 year old niece who has never seen Star Trek before (yeah I know how the hell did I let that happen). She came out of the theatre and couldn't stop talking about the movie. She is no "geek" and she loved it. I think it also had something to do with Zachary putting his arm around her too...
Hey fellow Kiwis!!! Glad to hear the premiere went well - can't wait to see this - my posse of friends have already booked us tickets - let the countdown continue!!!!
There's a bunch of video from the NZ premiere, including full interviews, here: http://www.3news.co.nz/TVShows/Nightline/StarTrekCoverage/tabid/1107/Default.aspx
Well, you and your niece are now screwed. Since Sylar touched you both, he can shapeshift and pretend to be either of you.
Speaking of booking early, I subscribed to Fandango's fan watch so that the moment these tickets go on pre-sale here in the states, I'll get an email so I can pre-order about 12 at this point. J.
Well, according to the woman at my work, she booked way before me - and my friend has already done the same, a little time after she did... unless this is some belated April fools, I'm pretty sure early bookings can be made...
