Hey check out that alien crewmember in the background - in the shot where Kirk is taking the command chair, presumably for the first time.

Does this sequence in the trailer mean that elder Spock sacrifices himself to save the future/past?

This is a pretty clear shot of the Kelvin bridge and uniform.

I love the Kelvin, I really do. I would have liked them to take everything they did on the Kelvin, uniforms, older ship look, bridge look and use them for the Enterprise.
I still don't like the Enterprise and I still think her nacelles are too big and do look a bit silly and out of propotion (yeah I know, what's new). But she's got a nice backside and underside.

Hm, that looks very interesting. Yeah, she looks female. Thanks for the screenshots, SalvorHardin. :)

We'd seen a picture of Kirk before in the command chair looking like he'd been in a fight. Sulu's in the picture, too, and he looks pretty beaten up. I always assumed that picture was after the fight on the drilling rig, and Kirk is in the command chair because Pike was either killed or is missing, and Spock left for Vulcan.
But now, we see what is probably THE scene of Kirk taking command for the first time, and he and Sulu look no worse for wear.
And, McCoy says they have no first officer? I may be wrong, but wasn't Spock Pike's first officer? So Spock is AWOL? Or has he been relieved himself of duty (part of Kirk's plan)? So, Kirk's first act as captain will be to reinstate Spock for duty as HIS first officer?

For the most part, I like that the trailer raises more questions than it may answer. I'M STOKED, BABY!

If u remember from the description of the preview clips kirk has just returned from the ice planet, with the older spock telling kirk to challenge young spock into provoking him...thus highlighting to the crew that young spock is not fit for command...so it allows kirk to take command, which is what old spock wanted in the first place

I did notice a shot of the Enterprise with NCC-1701 painted on the bottom part of the saucer. Didn't I? Did anyone get a screenshot of that?
