All Along the Watchtower - download?
I want to download this to my Ipod - it's not on Itunes. Is there somewhere legal I can buy just the BSG Mccreary cover?
I found some sketchy semi-legal looking sites...
Any help would be appreciated!

Re: All Along the Watchtower - download?
^^ Thanks - I've seen that, and to download, it wants me to upgrade to QuickTime Pro for $30. That's a little more than I wanted to spend on the one song...
Is there another way to download the mp3? or is it on offer somewhere else?

^You don't need to buy anything to download that. Just right click on the link and use whatever option your browser has for downloading links directly. In Firefox, for example, it's "Save Link As..."

I tried that but it tells me I need to buy Quick Time Pro to save it.

I use VLC instead of Quick Time, so I don't get that problem.

Re: All Along the Watchtower - download?
Sounds like a file association problem. Try this:
Find an MP3 file already on your PC. Hold 'shift', and right-click the file. Select 'Open With'. Choose Windows Media Player, and make sure you check the box at the bottom that says "Always Use....". It will open and start playing in Media Player. Close it.
Then, try to right-click the link above and save target. Should work, hopefully.

I was looking for Bear's soundtracks on iTunes earlier today. No dice! It seems ridiculous that in this day and age I might have to visit a physical CD store to buy his work in this day and age!

Battlestar is niche enough that you might not be able to find it in a physical store, only online.
Regardless, Bear has said in the past that the lack of an iTunes release is a problem with NBC Universal, and not anything he can change.

Right click on the link in the second post of this thread, not the quick time bar. I did that in Firefox and it saved it just fine.

This worked - thank you!!!
Now, to see what else he has on offer there...
Edit to add:
So I've gone back to his site, and clicked Demo -> Action. The first track there is Storming New Caprica. When I right-click and Save Link As... I get a 1K Firefox document instead of an MP3. What gives? Help! I'm frakkin this up!
Thank you all for helping a computer illiterate!

It's a simple website design trick. Instead of linking you to the mp3 directly, the site links you to a tiny HTML page that just plays the mp3.
Fortunately there's an easy workaround. Open the link you want in a new tab so that you can grab its URL, and change the ".htm" extension to ".mp3". This works since apparently they're named the same.
