Final viewing parties, NEW ORLEANS style

A few of us are having a viewing at Squeal BBQ in NEW ORLEANS on Oak Street in the Carrollton area.

I think most people who will be there are in their 20s or 30s, maybe some older. The more the merrier! I'm hoping by the final we will have a good group. I'm enjoying these final episodes too much to watch them alone before going out so I might as well combine socializing and the show.We will have a viewing at 9PM (everyone can come at 8 to start the drinking early) every Friday leading up til the final. Come get a beer, maybe some food...and share in BSG New Orleans style!

We just had 2 people. Heh.
But the Maple Leaf was pulling them in...you could hear the music waft on over..

However, we did have the projector...and beer...and onion rings, and shrimp. I wanted to go out to Frenchman St. afterward actually but I became a touch tipsy during BSG so I didn't go out.
So all n all, I enjoyed it...and look forward to this weekend again.

People want to come but this city being what it is...still its better to catch a few episodes with some other people than alone.

Hmmm - Can't do it this Friday, but maybe next for part 1 of the finale...? Might be able to con a friend or two into joining me as well...

Sounds like a fun time. Pity I'm in the Bay Area because I would definately go if I was in NO. Hope the gatherings are going well.

I was thinking of watching the last episode on my old 12 inch black and white with a bowl of General Tso's chicken in one hand and a brick in the other (just in case -- I don't want to ruin a good tv).

I wonder which will be 2009's bigger disappointment -- the BSG finale, or Trek XI.

Cool deal - I'm planning at the moment to be there, barring other circumstances. I may be able to bring a friend along, but that's a bit less definite. Looking forward to it! I've never watched BSG on anything but a small screen, and with no more than a close friend. At the end of the series, it feels right to join with a few others to commemorate the event!

But the odds of someone living in this little town are miniscule.

Daybreak Part 1, at 9PM tonight (altho I'll be there around 8ish), good food and beer on tap. 8400 Oak Street @ Squeal BBQ which is about a block away from the Maple Leaf.
