Given the now defunct 1,000 posts-per-thread limit, is this officially the longest running thread in TrekBBS history?

If so, awesome! The ranks of true believers wearing Sombrero avatars has diminished, but I remain amongst the faithful. Also, I'm too lazy to make a new one.

I think the aptly-titled "The Longest Thread Ever" (which was in Misc back in the 2002-03 era, and was probably the main reason for the 1000-post rule existing in the first place) still holds the record for the most posts in one thread, and ran for a longer duration, time-wise.

But that was then and this is now. We probably have right here the most awesome thread-view numbers assembled over a comparable period (4 months) of any thread ever on TrekBBS.

And we've got much better pictures, of course. :techman:

Actually, yeah, this one's pretty close.

    And certainly more entertaining. :techman:

Mmh, roughly 2500 posts versus just under 2000 posts. That's 20% more posts, not really what I would call close.

Well, then, I'm glad I'm using my standards and not yours.

    I'll go with Cogley's standards. He's a lawyer for all I know. ;)

At least enough to censor that avatar of yours. That's worth something, isn't it?
