Edit: Still don't know what baffles me more - a 150m$ flick going for a 1970s home electronics look that looks even less futuristic than TOS (not as clean and elegant)
And I look at and go, "Ok I can see that arising out of the tech we now have..." which I think serves the movie not to mention those being targeted far better.

Give me form-fitting spandex any day, it is so much more sexy!
No thanks the spandex look is so... meh.

Am I too late?!?

Looks like they are gone already.

Did anyone happen to save them? Please PM me. Thanks.

I have mixed feelings. I don't mind the "used" look, it would be a good change of pace, but the shuttle interior looks too "used". Of course we don't know any details about these pictures. This could be some old shuttle used for cadet training, and not the latest and greatest Starfleet shuttle model.

Nothing there looks like Star Wars, or any more militaristic than Trek has ever looked.

And let's face it, it's really impossible for it to look lower tech than the cardboard wall/wrinkled overhead projector look of TOS. The design is what's important, and while they've borrowed some of the low-tech look of TOS (which we TOS folks all know and love), they've obviously increased the 'resolution' quite a bit. Whatever this ship is, it's a ship that lands, and has people trampling in and out of it.

It's still a bright, colorful looking future, just not a pristine one. Besides, this is a frickin refueling port.

EDIT: I saved the juicy pics, but they're huge and I'm on dial-up, so it'd take a while for me to upload again. Wow, that was quick.

I'm sure that someone will upload the big versions to someplace like Photobucket

Take another sharp look at that console, then take a look at a modern aircraft or shuttle cockpit, or what they have planned for the Orion. Tech today is already more advanced than that. And it ain't hard - this green circuit board thingy looks like someone soldered it in his garage. 20 years ago!

Re: SPY PHOTOS at AICN

Who woulda guessed carbon fiber accent panels would make it to the 23rd century?

It is a drop ship. I saw it in Starship Troopers. I swear

and I'm on dial-up
Okay. You don't know much about state-of-the-art tech, alright

Who would have guessed that plastic shipping palettes would be one of the main construction materials throughout the Galaxy in the 24th?

They're not going to please everyone.

This looks like the 23rd century equivalent of a local bus that's been in service for decades. Good.

Re: SPY PHOTOS at AICN

NCC-1701 is my new hero. Thanks!

Although, if I were your attorney, I would advise you to remove the photos from this thread before Trek BBS gets a "phone call" similar to the one AICN got. (But since the cat's already out of the bag, the Paramount lawyers probably have their hands full.)

And those sloppy Starfleet bastards spelled "protocol" wrong! Once again, J.J. Abrams rapes my childhood.
