    Greetings, folks!

For those who may not know, since January a bunch of us have been going through a variety of Trek films and episodes and doing "line-by-line" threads on them, where each poster posts a single line from the film or episode, the next poster posts the next line, and so on.

Since January 14th, we have completed line-by-line threads on every Trek movie except the 2009 film and five episodes from the various series, and we are currently working on "Peak Performance" (TNG) which you can find here.

Normally, I only have one "official" line-by-line thread going at a time. However, I had a special request to do the 2009 film once it was released on DVD and Blu-ray, and I don't think it will hurt to have two threads going just this once. And so I'm here to start the official Star Trek (2009) Line-by-Line thread!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts. We don't include alot of "stage directions" and so forth, but do generally try to note when a scene changes from one location to another.

Normally, since I start these threads, I have always "thrown out the first pitch" by posting the first line from the film or episode we are doing. However, in this case, I have to admit that I don't yet own the DVD and there doesn't appear to be a script or transcript yet online that I can find. So I'm just gonna throw this one out there and let someone else start us off, and I will try to jump in further down the thread.

Also, please feel free to come join us in our "Peak Performance" thread!

    Enjoy!

    And, off we go...
