Trek Haiku, Could you write poetry about star trek, I had to.

In English class I had to write a haiku, A Japanese lyric verse form having three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables. Here was mine...

The borg are coming,
Your resistence is futile,
Assimilation.

Does anyone else think they could write a haiku about star trek?

Janeway kicks Delta
Quadrant ass, so I wouldn't
worry 'bout the Borg.

Vorik has Pon Farr,
but do not fear, Be'lanna,
here comes Tom Paris!

Icheb and Wesley
would totally be best friends,
because they are NERDS!

Starship Voyager
Kidnapped by the Caretaker
Stranded by Janeway

It's been seven years.
Temporal Prime Directive?
Screw it, let's go home

Seven babysits
It's time for recreation
Fun will now commence

Playing kadis kot
Children cheat with Borg implants
Nine Alpha for you!

Day of Honor sucked.
Warp core gone, stuck in space, but
Tom Paris loves me!

Harry Kim in lust
Holographic, Borg, or dead?
Questionable taste.

"Admit it, Kathy.
It's been a while." "It will
be a while longer."

Damn, Kashyk is hot.
Too bad he is a liar.
Look! I can lie, too.

Of all the horrors
In the Delta Quadrant, Le-
ola Root is worst.

Hi, my name is Joe.
Jeez, it took you thirty years
to come up with "Joe?"

Sleek curves and ample
Nacelles, Warmth in cold Space;
Home away from home.

Trek limericks are fun too but this is a form that deserves a real go!

Too many syllables in the middle line. Drop the "and."

I love Haiku, and I love Trek. This is fun for me, so I'm going another round.

Slipstream, transwarp, Kes.
So many leaps, yet Barclay
knows just where we are.

Assimilation:
We can totally fix that.
Fear the Borg no more.

I am Seven of
Nine, Tertiary -- Oh, hell.
Just call me Seven.

Hologram, or more?
Subroutines, photons, force fields,
Yet he dreams, sings, loves.

Where the hell are we?
Story of our lives aboard
Starship Voyager.

Technobabble rules!
We can save the universe
With the deflector.

Are you allowed to split sentences across lines in haiku?

I think so. I've never seen any mention of it in 'the rules.'
