Champions Online

Hello,

I think this is my first time post in the general Game forum.
Some of you may know me from the Trek Gaming forum.

Since launch of Star Trek Online, we are running an official guild (fleet) under the TrekBBS Banner called the TrekBBS Armada.

Now that Champions Online is Free to Play,I was thinking we could create a matching supergroup in this game as well.

Both games are run by Cryptic Studios and share the same community.
So if you have a user account in one game you don't have to create an account on the other (except STO is still subscription based).
You will be able to correspond with members of both games while playing since the chat system is also shared.

To honor the roots in STO I would suggest a spacebased background for our supergroup.
As a name I thought perhaps TrekBBS Space Police, but open for other suggestions.

I created my first character already, with 5 people we can start the group.

Any Champions member wo has not done so yet, is also welcome to join the TrekBBS Armada in Star Trek Online , too, of course

 

sound interesting havent played it that much. already got one charater on there at present when i didnt have a clue what i was doing.

Maybe it's time for a second one

But i'm now a bit more settled so good to play both again for a bit...

Firstly welcome to the forums and I want to say that I am also gaming champion of Need For Speed series.

 

Shouldn't I rather welcome you to the forums?

Anyway, This thread is dedicated to the game "Champions Online" and not about gaming champions... sorry if you misunderstood!

Have we got a Super Group yet? I can be on at pretty much any time to help set it up.

 

Now when you say it's free to play? You just mean the online is free correct?

I've really wanted this game but when I found out it wasn't coming out on the 360 I lost interest, my sister, my brother in law and me had big plans to each get a copy and team up online...but it wasn't meant to be.

 

It's free to download, and it's free to play online. There are things that you can buy, other classes, costume pieces, not sure what else. OP would probably know more. But as far as I know, it's still not on 360

 

Oh I know it's not on the 360. But that sounds interesting that it's free to download, I may take a look into it. Though this computer is a hand me down; it's not that powerful, so I'm not sure I'd be able to play the game.

 

I have been playing Champions Online for a little over a month now and I am on the level 25 at the moment
Though, I have all the perks from..er..dying in the game, tells something about my skills I really need to learn to team up more often with other players,
because its actually very fun.
I like the game a lot, its fun to play..particularly if you like comic books and superheroes (This is my first MMORPG, though)

I can not say much about the graphics quality, because I have to run the game on low settings, because of my old computer.
Luckily I do not get lag or "Low memory" warning too often( Yep, I really need to update my computer..)

Trek BBS Super group sounds like a fun idea

 

I have 10 characters and love the game. If you create a supergroup invite me! I'll join.

 

Alright... if we get 5 people together we're set to begin.
Will log in later today. Between 9pm and 11pm at least.
That's German time though. So all of you on the other side of the big pond just subtract 6 hours from that and you are set on east coast time.

Edit: BTW, maybe someone can think of a cool witty name fitting the group.

My background idea was for a Starfleet like space police with a bit of Green Lantern flavour (to account for the super powers) and the name should reflect that and still show the TrekBBS origin.
Maybe make TBBS stand for something else, so it has the same initials...

There is no supergroup yet, can't invite anyone.
Like in STO we need to have 5 players online and in a team to found the group.
So if you can log in within the next few hours do so.

Look for Captain Jet Jupiter@Timelord_Victorious, a guy in a black/red suit with a cape and goatee.

 

Team is starting to form, join as soon as you can.

The latest Champions Online update On Alert! is now live..and boy that is some huge patch/update to the game, the release notes are like a mile long:

I have not been playing this much in the past couple of months(been playing STO).
But I really must check this latest stuff out. Some of it sounds bit confusing..but I am sure it will clear up with some playing time.
Is the BBS super group active still, BTW?
I am not a member but I have one or two toons without a group still.

 

I played around in it today for a few hours. I am very impressed with the expansion.
