I really enjoyed the demo, to me the game feels like a modern day version of your point and click adventure game, i loved the whole CSI bit searching about the body and yeah the fight bit was really well done, i got right into that.
I bought the full game on Friday. Didn't get a chance to start playing it til around 10pm last night. It's now gone 5am, and I've only just managed to drag myself off it to go to bed for some much needed kip. Brilliant game, loving it so far. Can't wait to pick it up again tomorrow.
^^^You don't get many games like that any more, Fallout 3 was the last that had me up to the wee hours of the morning like that. I will have to wait unfortunately as i have far too many games at present, i still have Killzone 2, Infamous and the Sega collection to name a few that i still have to actually play. So many games, so little time.
Re: Heavy Rain thanks clint g. i really like the fixed-camera positions actually. I'd love to see some Trek game with fixed-camera positions. I came across these quotes from some reviews about the an interactive film-ness of Heavy Rain: http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/...nre-of-creative-expression-20100401-rh8z.html http://www.mercurynews.com/business-headlines/ci_14726197 This is finally showing what videogames can be for storytelling with cinematic elements.
Movie Deal plans for 'Heavy Rain' http://www.deadline.com/2010/05/mov...-playstation-3-serial-killer-game-heavy-rain/ http://www.videogamesblogger.com/20...hts-optioned-by-new-line-cinema-years-ago.htm Comment by The.Watcher May 20, 2010 Is A Heavy Rain Movie In The Works? http://www.atomicpopcorn.net/is-a-heavy-rain-movie-in-the-works/ oh yes the movie Clue with 3 endings. A good ploy to get people to see the film 3 times. Of course before the Internet when you don't know what the other 2 endings are...
There's nothing really special about the story anyway that would be ruined by having a definitive movie version though but the story is probably interesting enough to make a decent movie out of.
Honestly, I didn't find the story to be particularly amazing... it was engaging enough for the duration, but it had a lot of holes. I wouldn't bother watching a movie version... without all the fun of it being interactive, it would just be a mediocre film.
