The threads I saw for this were terribly out of date, so I figured it would be okay to start another one.

Now, for anyone not alive in the late 1990s, Roswell was a show with constantly-shifting ratings but a very loyal fanbase. It was originally developed by writer/producer/playwright Jason Katims, and based on a young-adult book series called Roswell High, written by Melinda Metz and Laura J. Burns. The main plot involves a trio of aliens, who work together with their human friends to discover their otherworldly origins and evade the local sheriff Jim Valenti. The show's pilot episode was largely based on the first story in the series, called The Outsider, but afterward Katims and the other writers went their own way.

As for the cast, only two actors were fairly well-known back then: Katherine Heigl and William Sadler. The rest had various acting experiences, but the show made all of them household names. The only real shakeup in that regard happened toward the end of Season 2, when Colin Hanks' character was killed off (Adam Rodriguez stepped in for the final year). In total, the program aired just 61 episodes, but many who grew up in that era still remember it fondly, including me. DVD versions have been out since 2005, but I'm hoping the studio decides to release it on Blu-Ray someday. Here's the show's main theme, performed by English singer Dido Armstrong. Discuss away!

I do not recall ever watching the show but I do recall having the issue of Maxim with Katherine Heigel on the cover.

So did I - that issue definitely changed my perception of her at the time. I was 19 years old, so I already recognized a knockout woman when I saw one...but seeing her that way definitely made an impression. I actually cut one of the shots out back then, and mailed it to her fan-mail address, hoping she would sign it...but sadly, I never got it back. Someone else did succeed though, last year - I saw an autographed copy of the complete book listed on Ebay, and the customer only paid $60. For someone with a much bigger profile now compared to then, you'd think something like that would've demanded a much higher amount.

She has a higher profile but given she pulled "Joey Tribiani as Drake Ramorey" it's hard to say that the profile is as positive as one might think.

Every actor has their high and low points. It seems these days, that she's chosen to focus more on her family than a Hollywood career. She's been married since 2007 to singer Josh Kelley, and they have three kids. The family moved to Utah in 2010, after Katherine left the TV show Grey’s Anatomy.

Kathrine was booted off Grey's Anatomy. Episodes of Greys Anatomy were presented to an awards show, probably the emmys, by her people, and then Kathrine got Vocal saying that "this year" of Greys had been bullshit, and she didn't want to be put forward for any awards, which pissed off producer Shonda Rhymes, who launched the girl into obscurity, never to work again (almost).
That would probably be a 21 year old Kathryn more than half way through he participation in Roswell. It seems like the actors in the show were much older than the the characters for which they were cast. I'm rewatching the series as well. On a break between season two and three, but Izzy made a big deal about how its not wrong or disgusting or illegal that she is 19 and her boyfriend come husband is 24, so they can't tell her parents. 24 is too mature? Hilarious.

The show is tight, but I loved it when "Maria" started doing recaps.

Katherine did decline the Emmy nomination, but she never used the word you did to describe why. All she said was that she felt her character wasn't given enough to do, so the award didn't feel appropriate to her.

Of the main youthful cast, Jason Behr ("Max Evans") was the oldest at the start, being 26 in 1999. In an interesting twist, he and Katherine actually dated for most of the show's run, even though their characters were siblings. The producers said this sometimes presented challenges when structuring a scene, because they'd realize something about either actor's body language, or the way they looked at each other, and quickly determined "OK, we have to change this up". Jason eventually married actress Katherine Dee Strickland in 2006, whom he met while filming The Grudge in 2004.

As for the story of Isabel's marriage to Jesse Ramirez in Season 3 of the show, I think it was done as respectfully as possible. At the time, no one even knew they'd be back - The WB network had axed the show in 2001. But an arrangement was made with UPN, who wanted the rights to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and part of that deal included granting Roswell another chance. The actual narrative wasn't so much about the age disparity between Isabel and Jesse (it was a minor plot point), but rather her constant dreams and visions of her former boyfriend Alex (Colin Hanks), who was murdered toward the end of Season 2. There was a great scene though, where she gets to dance with him one last time, and it still touches my heart to this day.

The ghost sex stuff happened in 5, and she left midway through 6.

Odds are she didn't want to get an award for simulating an orgasm with Negan.

Another reason I'm grateful that I never watched that show. I remember reading some stuff online when it first started, and thinking "I don't care how hot Katherine is - I don't need to see this."

    It wasn't a ghost.

    She had a brain tumour.
