    Yeah, where’s the black Beatle?

And is that Howard Wolowitz? Though to be fair he’s a good impressionist.

There was an odd minute where I wondered if they were actually going to have The Doctor ‘be’ Billy Preston when stuff about this story started leaking out. I was very glad to see they didn’t do that, but it kind of shows where my faith in Bad Wolf actually is, that I for a while thought that they *would*.

Am I the only one who thinks the guy playing Ringo like kinda like Bob Denver circa Gilligan's Island?

Moffat's episode is the first to use the LED Wall (aka The Volume) technology instead of a green screen for backgrounds.

Kind of had a feeling it might be based on the clips in the trailers.

RTD's new "tradition" for the show involves "warring Gods", which is where Maestro (Jinx Monsoon's character) comes in, so the big Welsh cheese sayeth.

I wouldn't call it a "new tradition" for the show itself, as DoG do - we had the Gods of Ragnarok and Fenric back in the day. And the Guardians weren't really given a scientific explanation as the article suggests previous mythical elements always were. Nor was the Beast in The Satan Pit, for that matter.

I'm trying to stay optimistic, dammit... I wish this damned thing would come out already, RTD has been like the anti-Chibnall, this endless stream of infonuggets and factoids with no actual show to stem the tide and to buffer.

Promoting the show is part of his job. Be thankful we have some back in charge who actually understands that.

I'm appreciative of that, it's just I might find myself sick of the show before it's even aired.

Another new trailer with lots of new shots that seems to have come out a bit early, since it mentions the series starting next Friday.

If you slow it/pause it towards the end you can see a shot of the Doctor in the Memory TARDIS from "Tales of the TARDIS". I'd forgotten Russell had said that would tie into the main series at some point.

    Edit: Unsurprisingly pulled down now.

A quote from Russell on the Timeless Child at the premiere of Episodes 1/2 that took place a couple of days ago.

“That storyline is a gift handed to me by Chris Chibnall. It's an honour to take it on from him. There's so much story in it! We're dealing with it in what we're shooting now for Season 2.”

Amazing that people thought it would end up either being ignored or retconned.

And this should be considered a spolier about Jinx Monsoon's character and the arc of the series in general.

The Maestro is the god of music, in the same way the Toymaker is the god of mischief, so they come from the same place. And we'll be meeting more gods over the course of the next two seasons.

If wonder if that will all tie into the story arc(s) with Ruby and her neighbor.

Hell, this could support my theory that the story possibilities created by the Timeless Child were a factor in RTD coming back.

Its no wonder I've not posted in this forum for while. The exploration of this idiotic plotline has somewhat dampened my spirits.

That being said, I've no doubt the episodes themselves will be a vast improvement over the last insufferable era and will no doubt enjoy some of them in any case.

Not just Who mind you, i have been long done with modern tv and movies, and i recently got to see some of what is passing for UK live terrestrial tv last week while visitng family, and my god, adverts, selling junk, adverts, buying junk, adverts, news and gloom, adverts, and junk junk junk...........it is no wonder so many are ditching Uk terrestrial tv. lol

I'm not a fan of the Timeless Child storyline, although I'm not surprised at all that RTD is going to use it. I'll have to see how it plays out. Focusing on some aspects will sit better, such as:
A pantheon of gods related to the Celestial Toymaker
    I don't mind at all.

However, playing up pre-Hartnell Doctors and the Doctor's special heritage are a different matter.

So far, the slight mentions that RTD included haven't been an issue. We'll see where it goes from here though.

I think in a recent RTD interview he said the only thing he really wanted to take from the Timeless Child concept was the idea that the Doctor was an adopted orphan, something that he'll have in common with Ruby. Otherwise, the more sci-fi particulars like any pre-Hartnell Doctors won't be a real focus. It'll mainly be about the Doctor sympathizing with Ruby what it's like not to know your biological family.

That's the smartest way to hit it. The Doctor having uncertainty about their heritage, which they already had a complicated relationship with, is something that you can tell a story about much more easily than teasing the audience and tempting the Doctor with a secret wikipedia page cataloging episodes we'll never see that were way cooler than the ones that we will.

If that's it, I can live with it. That's pretty much all he did with it in what we've seen so far and that was ok.
