Throw away line in the first episode:
"In the long tradition of the Federation, Starfleet Academy's location was always this place here. On Earth. With Earth now part of the Federation again, we are thrilled to build on this new found relation of mutual trust and friendship by re-opening the new Academy on its old foundations."
    Or something like that.

What is weird though.... with so many worlds in the Federation and thus most likely countless of cadets, it's insane to think there is only on physical academy. In the 23rd and 24th century there were most likely many sites throughout the Federation.

I suppose it's probably built out of programmable matter or something. Just drop a blob of it on the shoreline of Horsehoe Bay, light the proverbial blue touch paper, and stand well back. Boom, instant Academy campus.

I've seen estimates of the size of Starfleet Academy population of around 250,000. Definitely more than can be housed in any of the Academy buildings we've ever seen. We might reasonably assume there'd be Academy installations in various locations, and San Francisco is just the central administrative hub.

Agreed. And most likely on other planets as well. It wouldn't make sense to have everyone travel to Earth.
I still have this fanfic idea in my head where there's talk of the Acadamy location on Deneva.

Wasn't there some kind of blink-and-you'll-miss-it display in PIC's Season 2 opener that suggested that the Academy had several dozen satellite campuses across the Federation? If so, that lends weight to the idea that San Francisco is merely where the main campus/headquarters is located.

I don't recall that but if so, it would be totally awesome!

Kind of how, say, Brigham Young University has different campuses in not only Utah but also Idaho and Hawaii.

Whoa! I remember attending a university with multiple sites in one town. I used to be late to one class every time because I couldn’t run fast enough down the streets. How would I rush between campuses in Idaho and Hawaii‽

Commuting is less of a problem with transporters.

Amazing of them to give away that Voyager-A likely doesn't survive Prodigy

Yeah, that was ballsy of them. Between Voyagers and Enterprises the late 24th century and beginning of the 25th are burning through a lot of ships just because it's fun for the audience to get to see the next one.

Makes me love The 1701 even more. Old girl lasted 40 years, which seems to be an achievement.

It's never stated onscreen but the Enterprise-B may have lasted as long as 36 years. Ironic given her maiden voyage resulted in catastrophic hull damage and the supposed death of James Tiberius Kirk.

Three Voyager's in 30 years. Almost as bad as four Enterprise's in 38.

Yeah, the Pathfinder-class isn't always the nicest looking ship, at least proportionately...

I think if we do see the Voyager-A, it maybe should be based on a scaled down USS Aventine, to some extent?

As that's a very sleek ship - and the saucer is already quite Voyager-esque...

We've already seen glimpses of the Voyager-A from sneak peeks at upcoming PRO footage.
