None of these ideas really excite me too much, but I might be biased.
I had a series pitch I put together that I brought to David Rossi at Paramount, which is when I was told that Kurtzman has his own ideas for series and I should do spec scripts for the existing ones instead.

It was about a civilian UFP ship from the Federation equivalent of the FBI, dispatched to aid worlds in the former Romulan Star Empire that are struggling with maintaining law and order but are wary of Starfleet. It was supposed to be a "mystery of the week" type show, with an overarching plot involving a split between the more conservative Romulan military and the civilian, unification-friendly Romulan government.

But...Kurtzman isn't interested, so... we'll get what we get, I guess.

I genuinely couldn't give two shits about young picard or the romulan war. I'd be up for a 25th centuries series on the Enterprise - G but not if it's just going to be 5 seasons of TNG's greatest hits.

Just adapt it for an episode of Legacy. Maybe a spinoff will come from that.

I believe that TV Tropes describes this as a "Continuity Reboot." A process that is referred to as "re-imagining" a show.

You would have to figure out what exactly makes Trek, Trek; rather than a generic science fiction show.

Hmm...perhaps this poll stays just as is. With a Capt. Garrett of the Ent. C tv show atop of those other pitches/ideas.

TBH with the recent variety article, Ent. C & Romulan War tv series are most probable ATM. A scenario unalike that once thought inevitable (Legacy) just a year or so ago.

Legacy or Legacy-equivalent is really the only thing i'm interested in. I'm sadly quickly losing interest in Star Trek now.

Dumb question from the floor: does the lack of new content make people loose interest in Star Trek?

Like, I keep up on some shows, but my main draw is uniforms, fan art, and such. Even if Star Trek stops being produced (eventually it will; all good things, etc.) my fan interest doesn't stop because of it. Am I the only one?

I doubt it, but the way I see talking points about new series it's like that's the only way.

Nope. I was still a fan before TNG and still a fan after ENT. I'll always be a fan.

I've always been a fan of Star Trek even though I don't really remember half of the episodes I watched. As for future series I like to see one based around the Enterprise B.

No, I wouldn't lose interest in the franchise. But fresh content makes it easier to build new audiences.
For instance, how many Matlock fans are there in the 18-35 crowd?

My wife. Small sample size but still.

It's all about how fans engage with nonfans. I take people to screenings, showing them various clips and explore different ideas. It's how I got friends of mine into Farscape. My wife (again anecdotal) does not enjoy science fiction, but watched ST 2009 with me, then proceeded to watch all of DS9 without my prompting.

Fresh content is great and all, but I think fans are way to dependent on something new to be the hook. When I observe my kids' generation (helpful that I work in schools) there is a draw to the old as well as the new. Kids are expressing interest in learning cursive, want to buy vinyl records, and watch older shows and movies. There is an interest there if fans can work with it.

During the interregnum that began after Enterprise ended, my interest did go into a bit of a lull those first few years. I was still a devout Trekkie, it just didn't feel like much of a priority. I think it was around 2011 that my interest went back into peak interest. Granted, there are varying reasons for that which may not factor in should all Trek cease production again at some point, amongst them issues in my personal life. So I guess it's hard to say definitively until the time is upon us again.

I wanted to see a Janeway series but it looks like Picard didn't perform as well as expected so there's little confidence in such a series.

My vote went to Legacy and I'm probably one of the few people who loves the constant callbacks and references to past Trek. I do want to see how everyone is doing 30 years later.

The Rachel Garrett series sounds like a great idea, though and when I saw it in the poll, I hesitated on Legacy and had to really think about what to vote for.

In the end, I think we might get a Legacy movie or even a Janeway movie. And if Rohl is popular, a Rachel Garrett continuation of some sort.

I was initially excited about the idea of Legacy, but the more I thought about it, the more I disliked it.
Don't get me wrong, I thought the actors and setting for Picard Season 3 were great. But, I'm not thrilled with the idea of continuing to slavishly devote the franchise to what has been. Every main character we would conceivably get on Legacy is someone either introduced in an earlier series OR the descendent of a character from an earlier series.
I decided I'd rather let them have a TV movie, perhaps, or a miniseries, but let the ongoing series be something completely new with brand-new characters. We haven't really gotten that in live-action since season1 of Discovery.

Out of the list my least favourite possibly is Legacy. I have no interest in watching a Star Trek show lead by Captain Seven & her still looking for her humanity.

My person pick would be something live action with Janeway or something completely new set in the 25th century with new characters.

With Legacy, I’m onboard with Admiral Riker, and more Worf & Raffi adventures, and Kestra being a part of the crew. But the pitch as it is right now, does have issues

Since members of characters are related to another character from a previous series, I’m half-expecting the following about the other characters onboard the Ent-G to be revealed:

    - Mura is the child of Harry Kim and Kira Nerys

    - Esmar is the offspring of Keiko O’Brien and the half sister of Molly O’Brien.

    - Dr. Ohk is the niece or cousin of Ezri or Jadzia Dax

    - The male Vulcan that Esmar hugged in PIC is the son of Saavik

    - If T'Veen is revealed to have a twin sister and introduced into the show to replace her, then they are the daughters of Spock and Ilia

IDK, man. I do not what purpose the nepotism serves in the show. There has to be a point, if a bunch of descendants are on one ship - and the Enterprise no less - at once.

Next, the Ent-G rubs me the wrong way. Not because its small – the Ent-E was originally be Nova class – or that the Ent-G exists – they aren’t obligated to follow the STO timeline - but they rechristened the Titan-A, after not giving us the Titan like LD did, and investing a whole season to get everyone to care about it.

And in addition, the more I think about it,the first season aside, the series should should be on the Voy-B. That should be the hero ship.

I mean, I’m not opposed to the Ent-G being the first season and Seven saying “space the final frontier” in the intro, but the Voy-B feels more natural if we are talking about legacies and ties to the 24th century. And its not like series about ships named Voyager are overdone yet. While a Rachael Garrett series would inevitably involve the Ent-C at some point, after SNW which is on the Enterprise. Star Trek is filled with shows set on an Enterprise; do we really need on more right now? And I say that as someone that wants ENT to properly finish their story. At least by setting it on the Voy-B, it give Legacy an opportunity to be to “Endgame”, what PIC is to NEM.

Matalas and the rest of those invoved would be better off if they admit that Legacy will basically be S8 of VOY, or S8 of DS9, then suggesting that it will basically SNW in the 25th century. Then the focus on the Klingons and Cardassians and involvement of DS9 and VOY characters, instead of on new voyages and new characters, will make more sense.

See, I don't see a reason to make it "Voyager-B" or "Enterprise-G" or "Titan-A" or anything like that. I think a new ship, with a new crew, like Discovery was, is really the way to go. By this point we, as fans, should be WELL accustomed to ships not named Enterprise or Voyager, and don't need our hands held narratively in that way.
Any season taking place post-Picard would, invariably, be a DS9 or VOyager season 8. There's nothing wrong with referencing either show in the ongoing series. That's supposed to be the beauty of an interconnected universe like that.

New ship, new crew, new spaces. Do not go check in with the aliens from the past, unless the plot demands it. If I want a reunion tour, I'll go watch music. That's not what I watch TV shows for.
