Nah. Five will feel like enough. I don't need an endless supply of the entertainment I love to feel satisfied.

Besides, even the best series can outlive their welcomes.

I'd argue that most of the Trek series outlived their welcome. TNG and Voyager certainly.

I don't need any of it, but SNW is my favorite Trek show since DS9, so of course I'd like more of it. At the present season size, 5 seasons is the equivalent of 2 "old" seasons. If the show maintains its quality, how can that be enough?

I'd rather be left wanting more than have it continue on. It's amazing to me this idea that things should keep getting made no matter what. To me, limitations in art include recognizing when it's ok to be done. Even if I still want more.

In the Classic Era (1966-2005) only two Trek series ended stronger than they began: DS9 and ENT. The other four shows at best broke even.

Shoot, if a show I like maintains its quality, yeah, I'd love more. However, if SNW only gets 5 seasons, I'll be glad that it was made.

I'd agree that many series have outstayed their welcome. But that's a double whammy of having both more seasons AND more episodes per season. There were also contributory factors, especially for TNG. As the series was ending, more talent and resources were siphoned off for Generations and VOY.

Curious... are Jess Bush's tattoos covered over in makeup or digitally removed in post? IIRC, Sopranos actress Adriana La Cerva had to sit in makeup for hours to get all her ink covered up.

Yeah, did some digging at TrekCore and Cygnus-X1 and saw the same thing.

I also noticed that she seems to be holding her arm at certain strategic angles to prevent the swan tat on her wrist from showing up on-screen, akin to how James Doohan always hid his hand with the missing finger. She also seems to keep her sleeve pulled down low, as well as sometimes having gloves on her hands while in sickbay.

Well, TOS didn't have 50 good episodes and it's done okay. :p

Should…could…won’t…production realities change over 50-60 years…expense…yada, yada, yada.

Don’t care about any of that. SNW is the Trek I have waited for (without knowing it) since the 70s after I’d seen every TOS episode. I completely, selfishly, and unreasonably want this show to go on for 200+ more episodes. Any fewer would be a disgrace. :scream:

Ahem. Ok. I’ll take however more are made—but I’ll still want more (only series other than TOS I can say that about with any real feeling).

Curious... where did that graphic come from?

It actually looks like it was done on an 8-bit computer... or a Vectrex. I did ship diagrams that looked just like that over 40 years ago...

Personally I'd like to see the handoff of the Connie from Pike to Kirk's era.

And the SNW Enterprise in place of the TOS.

I want those delicious reeee's XD.
