It's not tampering because Belichick wasn't under contract. Belichick, if he wanted to go scorched-earth on the Krafts, could maybe file a lawsuit for tortious interference, but it's far from the first time a boss--in any industry--talked shit about a former employee. (There's a reason pretty much every major corporation in the United States has policies that the HR department will only verify that a person worked for that company, verify the dates of employment, and maybe--depending on the state--say whether or not that employee is eligible to be re-hired.)

So if they went with say, the blue and tan and yellow of the mid-50s and the Eagles went with black and white (although not sure what you'd do about helmets?) there's at least an option? I think them spending their first round pick on Bo Nix (Brandon Weedon 2.0) would be a huge mistake. Though that is what I keep seeing on the various mock drafts. If Penix is there at 12, Denver shouldn't even blink before sending their card to the podium.
