Is that anything like that line from MIB, "Elvis is not dead; he just went home"?

Nearly finished: The Bible Book: Big Ideas Simply Explained by DK

I think that almost everyone would find something of interest here. The team offers a lot of historical, cultural, geographical, and literary detail. Even if someone knew all of this already, there's at least some beautiful artistic depictions of various Biblical events included.

The focus is about 50% Old Testament, 25% Gospels, and 25% the rest of the New Testament. The writing straddles the line pretty well of presenting what various groups believe about various topics without affirming or denying any such beliefs.

Just about to start: a reread of Kieron Gillen's amazing Journey Into Mystery run featuring Kid Loki

The book is about a sc-ifi mystery A man named Oliver Vale goes up on the roof to try to get his satelite dish to work so he whacks it with a wrench and instead of getting to see a John Wayne movie Buddy is on Ganymede on everyone's tv screens playing rock and roll and Buddy tells everyone to contact Oliver vale in Kansas and there' s some aliens pretending to be humans on earth that go after him for some reason.

Just finished Garth of Izar (Sargent) and The Voyage Home (McIntyre). I enjoyed both. Garth of Izar was really interesting and I was conflicted throughout as to Garth's motives and solutions.

Also reading Murder Road by Simone St. James and The Alperton Angels by Janice Hallett. (I always have a bunch of books going at the same time). Murder Road is okay, but I can see it's not going to be my favorite of her books (her first three books were terrific). Alperton Angels is the second of Hallett's books I have read, and though her conceit is somewhat entertaining, I'm not sure I will read a third book by her. I did really enjoy the first book I read of hers (The Twyford Code). But we'll see.

Almost done with Dubliners. The biggest challenge with reading this book is not knowing all of the slang, so I have to look it up during first reading. Some stories use it more than others. Besides this one complaint, I’m enjoying stories that I’d mostly call day in the life of a Dubliner. Some stories go beyond a day. But most don’t seem to.

As a companion to my marathon, I've just started reading the Encounter at Farpoint novelization.

I was look at reading all of the novels set during TNG's first season, but besides Farpoint and the Double Helix installment which are available as ebooks, I've had to buy the rest second hand on Amazon Marketplace. I found it strange that these ebooks have disappeared as I swear I used to own them back in the day.

The UK Amazon must be different in what they offer. I checked the TNG numbered novels, and Amazon US has all except The Captain's Honor for purchase on Kindle.

Thanks Smiley, I guess it's just one of those things I guess. Hopefully, they'll be available again soon. :)

Man, the guy wrote a lot of letters. Makes me wonder how the postal service operated back then.

Rise of the Federation - Am Scheideweg/A Choice of Futures. Translated by Bernd Perplies.

It's interesting to see what the former Enterprise crew is doing after the show. And I wanted to know what happened after the Romulan War books. The Federation is still small and vying for members. Some of them - like Bajor once - in fear of the loss of their independce. I like to read more about Reed as Captain and Trip keeping a low profile.

As I recall, David Hartwell (who launched Pocket's STAR TREK book program) edited that book, back when we were both working at Arbor House/William Morrow.

Thanks Greg that's interesting info about the Buddy Holly story I finished reading it and I liked it. I'm looking forward to getting your new Star Trek book with Gillian Taylor in a few months.
