Why does Book look human if he is a alien?

Why does Book look human if he is a alien? Could his human form be not his real form?

 

A lot of Trek aliens look more or less indistinguishable from Humans.

 

Have you seen Star Trek? Why do Betazoids look human even though they're aliens? Trek is full of human looking aliens.

 

What everyone else said. Tons of Star Trek aliens look like humans. So what?

 

Because SAG-AFTRA only has human members (at present).

 

There's nothing odd about Book looking human.

That was basically every alien on TOS, save for a handful.

And that's just the ones on Earth, and TNG Season 1.

On topic, it's been more than a thousand years since humans left the Solar System. Did the show ever say Book's people evolved on that planet?

I thought Book was Human, just with some genetic weirdness? He has an Earth cat, doesn't he?

 

I believe aliens are allowed to have Terran animals as pets.

There were no aliens at the time in SAG. Duh

 

For one thing, the Preservers scattered a lot of Humans all over the galaxy. There was also a TNG episode-I think it was "The Chase"-that explained why so many non-terrestrials looked so close to human...
