Looks more idiot proof than the original.

It's Star Trek. It won't be.

I hope they show us an engineering lab that's just the same set but with some tucker tubes in the background.

It should be standard practice to leave your :censored::censored::censored: gloves on in a potentially contaminated area. This is not idiot proofing. This just following a simple rule.

Not one, but two episodes of Strange New Worlds have been nominated for a Hugo Award.

The wrong 2 episodes and the Hugos don't mean what they used to, but giving a round of applause anyway.

The courtroom episode perhaps, but both TOS and rhapsody were funny and silly, not very dramatic (in both senses of the word)

Both of those are pretty special episodes and I’m glad to see them recognized like that.

I still can’t get over the fact that they actually produced a musical and crossed over with the cartoon. The showrunners were seriously on fire in season two.

Great news for SNW, but damn, that's some stiff competition this year. IMO, all those nominations with the exception of the Loki episode and Doctor Who Wild Blue Yonder easily deserve to win.

It's nice to see Trek recognized for breaking out of its formula and going, you know, where BTVS has gone before. ;)

    I mean it.

Definitely. This show isn’t breaking any new ground for television or even just sci-fi television, but certainly for Trek itself. And I love to see it.

It's weird to watch Star Trek on TV and not know what's coming and how it will end, five beats ahead of the unfolding story.

Watched an interview with Ethan, Celia and Christina about the musical. So now I'm watching Subspace Rhapsody again.

Honestly, what's the water for? At least it's not a Rollercoaster.

Possibly Cetacean Ops, although it feels odd to have that at this stage... feels like something that would have been a revelation Post-Voyage Home. Yeah they could be dolphins, but if they actively have dolphin crew on the ships, the realization "OMG IT WANTS TO TALK WHALES?!" seems like it shouldn't have been in any way shocking.

Gotta say though, good on you SNW. Spock's environment suit is perfect. *THAT* is how you do a "visual update". I can 100% buy that as being the same suit from TOS. This is what I want from a "visual update"... keep the same shape, coloring, etc. Things should still look like they did, just... more detailed, with small alterations here and there.

SNW has done this very well with the costumes and props. I can 100% buy the uniforms and all that as TOS uniforms. The phasers, tricorders, etc. are perfect. I still have some issue with the ship itself and interiors and what not. I think they could have gotten those closer while still being "visually updated", but SNW is good enough that I can mostly excuse it.

It might not even be on the Enterprise. Spock is wearing an isolation suit so it might be a Starbase or some other Federation facility.
