Group A France Romania Albania Switzerland Group B England Russia Wales Slovakia Group C Germany Ukraine Poland Northern Ireland Group D Spain Czech rep Turkey Croatia Group E Belgium Italy Sweden Rep Ireland Group F Portugal Iceland Austria Hungary We were always gonna get another home nation; I'm glad it was Wales. Should be a good game. Group E officailly is the group of death.
Ha. This doesn't belong to the Euro, but the friendly match Germany vs England is only a few days away. Jogi Löw already has kicked out a recalcitrant player.
We'll probably beat you. We always do well in pointless games and save our embarrassing incompetence for the tournaments. Kane scored two more at the weekend. He looks favourite to play up front permanently for England now.
Sadly that's true. Many coaches from other sports envy Löw to be able to strike when it's important. Despite many unimportant friendlies before.
Gomez was outside.... Always the same old trick, and Gomez fell for it. It's odd: I don't know anybody of the English team...... A bad sign? Rooney is obviously indisposed.....
It's a very young starting 11. Henderson is probably the most experienced. Kane is the great hope up front and Ali is the great hope in midfield.
A pointless away win in Germany. A pointless home defeat against Holland. Bring back the domestic stuff. I hate internationals.
While we won it, a run to the last 8 is a must or Hodgson probably needs to go. I still think he will pick a few donkeys in his squad like Sturridge or Lallana and opt for the useless diamond formation over more fluid 4-3-3 that reverts to 4-2-3-1 when defending. Personally my squad would be... GK - Hart GK - Forster GK - Heaton RB - Clyne RB - Walker LB - Bertrand LB - Rose CB - Cahill (vc) CB - Smalling CB - Stones CB - Jagielka CM - Dele Alli CM - Dier CM - Carrick CM - Milner CM - Barkley CM - Henderson WM - Welbeck WM - Sterling WM - Chamberlain ST - Kane ST - Rooney (c) ST - Vardy The opening game against Russia... -------------------------Hart------------------------- Walker-----Smalling-----Cahill------Bertrand ---------------- Carrick ------Dier ---------------- Welbeck-----------Dele Alli ----------- Vardy -----------------------Kane ----------------------- Am a little unsure about Vardy (Maybe Rose just got 1st game) wide left and further in the group I would replace Carrick with a more attacking player but opening game is one you can never really afford to lose.
I'm starting to get excited myself. So, which teams do you folks think will do well? Even though I followed the qualifiers I'm unsure.
I received my tickets a few days ago. It's starting to feel real now. I am unsure too. I guess we can always count on your national team. France will at least try since it's at home. I'd say that spain will try to do better than the last world cup.
I don't think Germany will do that well. The team's performance has been very uneven, especially in the defense. Basically, they're back to pre-2014 levels there. Which isn't bad but probably not enough to win the cup. I agree that Spain has recovered and believe that France has a strong team. And there's always Italy, of course. Maybe there isn't a clear favourite. I wonder if Belgium and Austria could be the surprise teams this time around? Or Poland? @Shaytan What's match 14?
Italy won't have Verratti, they are less interesting in my eyes Yeah, I think it's very open. Romania-Switzerland at the Parc des Princes. Not a very interesting match but they are in the group of France.
Oh Saint-Denis, that's so cool! I've been wanting to go since 1998! They even held the World Cup final on my birthday that year. They hype is real!
That was their way to be considerate That's going to be my first match in this stadium. I have already been there for concerts (Metallica and The Wall). It's maybe going to be the quarter of France so that's very exciting.
