Whatever we get, best that it be "incredibly Star Trek-y."

    No thanks.

    I don't want a repeat of Enterprise.

Harriman must have been a distant relative of Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day off. They act pretty much the same.

Well, Harriman didn't INTENTIONALLY trash his ride...

He did put it in reverse, though.

How about a fan-series concerning the adventures of the Enterprise-A after ST: 6 TUC. It was never destroyed (except in the Shatnerverse, but I am referring to onscreen evidence).

I think I am fine with almost any era being explored except pre-Kirk or the TOS era. I would prefer after TNG/VOY but would be happy with an era between TOS and TNG.

Between TUC and Encounter at Farpoint is a period of time with a great potential for a series.

And I don't want something that's totally new and completely disconnected from what came before. The new Star Trek series needs to be a "Star Trek" series.

Well I hope it will be a Star Trek series - and not another Star Trek TNG-lite series. The best thing they could do is start fresh yet again (IMO).

Or, you know, how about something in the middle? Something that's neither "incredibly Star Trekk-y" nor "completely disconnected from what came before", how about something that respects and acknowledges what came before, while also putting an interesting and fun twist on it to keep the franchise fresh and accessible to new fans?

I know you people on the internet can only have one extreme or the other, but do your best to think about it. It's nice.

A smaller ship similar to the Reliant would be good. If they go into the TNG era a Nebula-class ship would be great, or the ENT-E variant of that design. Whatever it's called. Maybe something with the diversity vibe of Titan.

If the reboot movies are the not too Star Treky option I'll take so Star Treky it hurts.

No Nebulas, ever. That is just one hideous kitbash I hope would have been never created.

The ship was decommissioned after the movie. There were no more adventures. Also, the Enterprise B was commissioned the same year as the Khitomer Conference.

I never said it wasn't decommissioned, I only said it was never destroyed.

Likely became a museum piece. Or a full-time academy trainer.

I liked the Enterprise-A/Original Refit Design Best (most sleek).

She could even have just been sent to the breakers. Even famous ships throughout history have been dismantled after being decommissioned, although it's possible that some artifacts--like her dedication plaque or the captain's wheel seen in Star Trek V--could be preserved for a museum, IMO.

Plenty of time for adventures between V (launch of a "new" ship) and VI (decomissioning) - could even speculate a 3rd 5YM in there. Plenty of room for unseen adventures, but not post VI.

If someone finally DID pull off making TMP style sets, how hard would it be to redress them as TFF -TUC sets?
